Bush insn't a freeper per se, but I bet some of his staff read this board. He does know about Free Republic. He was made very aware of it in Austin during the election mess.

Actually, the story was on TV - and the wife actually said it was her husband's usual statement whenever they were ready to go anywhere.

Since the President introduced the wife when he spoke before Congress, I'm confident the President knew of Todd's statement of "Let's roll".

The President may be a lurker, but he would not be allowed to post because the law requires that all of his internet communications are considered "public". I read a story which said the President had to quit e-mailing his friends because of the laws regarding his communications. And ... the President was not too happy about it either.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone on staff lurked to gauge some public opinion and to appropriate some "popular" concepts.

This isn't meant in terms of intellectual theft. The FBI was openly soliciting ideas from Hollywood to brainstorm possible terrorist attacks. It would be nice if the government were listening to Hollywood to get into the minds of the bad guys and listening to FR to hear the thoughts of the good guys...
