I remember as a kid some of my Baptist relatives teasing the Methodist relatives and saying, "Well, there might be one or two Methodists in heaven."

LOL! This reminds me of the little town I used to live in. The front of the Methodist Church faced the back of the Baptist Church at the end of the street. The Baptist church had a big parking lot, the Methodist had few parking places, so they "shared" the lot between the churches, which belonged to the Baptists. One Sunday morning as the Baptists pulled into the parking lot, they noticed there was brand new yellow stripping on the first two rows closest to the street. The Baptists didn't think much about it, just parked their cars and went to church. Well, when church was over the feud was on! The Methodists had painted the stripes and those first two rows were THIER parking places and they were hot that the Baptists had parked in their places. The property belonged to the Baptist Church and it didn't take long for the Baptists to let the Methodists know that it was just out of their gracious hearts that the Methodists were able to park there at all.

The feud was carried over to the Masonic Lodge - half the Masons were Baptist, the other half were Methodists.

The Baptist vs. Methodist feud got quite heated and lasted a few months. It was pretty humerous. The old blue-haired ladies fighting in the parking lot after church and their husbands fighting it out at the Masonic Lodge.

The Church of Christ (the only other church in town) was smart. Their church was on the other side of the main highway next to the firehouse. Of course, they got mad when we had a training session on Wednesday nights and used a small portion of their parking lot to park the firetrucks.

And the fueding between the three churches when a new family moved to town! Probably didn't have to cook for months. LOL!

Ah, the joys of living in a really tiny town!

I have it on pretty good account that "Rove" lurks, and he has the president's ear!

Makes sense to me. Why hire consultants and pollsters to find out what your base thinks of your latest move when, in 30 minutes here, you know? (in no uncertain terms either)

So I wasn't being paranoid thinking that someone had lifted my post for him that said, "We shall not tire, we shall not falter, nor relent".

Just curious, was that a Southern town?

I wouldn't be surprised if someone on staff lurked to gauge some public opinion and to appropriate some "popular" concepts.

This isn't meant in terms of intellectual theft. The FBI was openly soliciting ideas from Hollywood to brainstorm possible terrorist attacks. It would be nice if the government were listening to Hollywood to get into the minds of the bad guys and listening to FR to hear the thoughts of the good guys...

I think they are also. Let's face it. 48 hours after we were talking about things, the issue rolled out of the Administration. They're listening to us and I love it! God bless free speech!

I know he's not a Christian, but is a Methodist

Look up Christian in the dictionary. Methodists are Christians, as are all other Protestants and Catholics. I assume you include only "born again" Christians as "Christians" in your venacular.

"...anyone who confesses that Jesus Christ is God come in the flesh and the sole way of salvation, well, they're Christians..."

Yeah, basically, yeah.

Gets kinda tiring looking for a church that wasn't started by somone who'd started it the way I woulda started it.

Doctrinal differences? Heck, I gotta million of 'em.

Let's debate over harps and clouds.

"Hey W, look over my brother's service record and promote his butt... he can waste terrorists like few others can but his pay sucks..." Hee hee! And while you're at it, Mr. President, please reinstate my hubby's commission in the Air Force. He's been dying to get back in, but he just turned 38. He would be HONORED to serve with you as his CinC.

The other day after watching Ari handle the press so supremely, and kept emphasizing the American people are resolved and not impatient, I sent him a praise note. I called the White House comment line and a volunteer there took everything down word for word and read it back to me. I told him at the end that on FR daily photos of President Bush, his picture comes up because we love Ari.

Awesome words!! Did you write them yourself? If not who did?

You should put that on your profile page, if you don't I will,(with proper credit to the writer of course) but if you do I will put a link to it on mine.
