My Dad lives in Tennessee near Fort Campbell. He is a retired High School teacher/administrator. We were trading notes shortly after 9-11 and he told me a story that raised the hair on the back of my neck. He says that there is an Islamic "family" that live together out in the country near the town where he taught. They live in a group of trailers that are backed up to one another in a circle and connected to a single electrical pole. No plumbing and no phone lines. He estimates that the family is approx 30 people strong by the number of trailers present. He has dropped several of the muslim high school aged students off who live there after some incidents at school involving them required them being sent home (the "parents" are never available and presumably work in Nashville - 60 miles away). They would not let my Dad drive them up to the trailers and would always jump out of the car where the drive meets the highway and walk the 100 yards to the compound. The local authorities are aware of their presence. Sounds very much like the California group.
