Hey, we haven't seen you over at the Freeoples in ages...pop in for a spell :-)
OMG!!! What a traitorous piece of garbage! It is our fault that a foreign enemy stormed our soil, burned alive, crushed and dismembered 5,000 innocent people as they were peacefully going about their lives?!
"In the first Crusade, when the Christian soldiers took Jerusalem, they first burned a synagogue with 300 Jews in it and proceeded to kill every woman and child who was a Muslim on the Temple Mount. I can tell you that story is still being told today in the Middle East and we are still paying for it."
". . . shrink the pool of potential terrorists. And that has nothing to do with fighting, but that has to do with what else we do.
"This is partly a Muslim issue, because there is a war raging within Islam. We need to reach out and engage the Muslim world in a debate."
He is deliberately attempting to undermine president Bush's strategy by invoking "Crusade" and "war raging within Islam." Does this leave ANY doubt that he would have handled 9-11 any differently than he did the first attack on the WTC in 1993?! And we are supposed to believe that he really, really tried to get OBL? Yeah, right.
Mr. Clinton referred to stories in the media about some American citizens cheering the terrorist attacks and suspected mastermind Osama bin Laden.
"This debate is going on all over America. We've got to stop pretending this isn't out there,"
"We ought to pay for these children to go to school a lot cheaper than going to war," he said.
Again, he makes me sick to my stomach. This article sums up my response to the pacifist drivel: The Poison of Pacifism
"We've got to defeat people who think they can find their redemption in our destruction."
We've been trying to defeat you for nearly a decade now, Bill Clinton; and we're not through yet.
"And then we have to be smart enough to get rid of our arrogant self-righteousness so that we don't claim for ourselves things we deny for others."
Sounds to me like he should take his own advice.
Chia pet hair, ROTFL! Thank you so much, Sweetie, for putting the monster back in the gutter where he belongs. Like most sane Americans I was shocked at this speech...tasteless, deceptive and treasonous, even for him it was over the top and incendiary. Clinton's legacy should surpass Benedict Arnold's someday. Hugs. (^:
Clicking on the "Hugh Hewitt bump_list" is sort of like doing a "Find in Forum" for Hugh. Since he is NOT a registered FReeper, we created this imaginary profile for him, courtesy of John Robinson's wonderful new software.
Although he cannot respond here - that's why he has a RADIO SHOW! - ANYONE can post a reply To: Hugh Hewitt on ANY thread that you think will be of interest to Hugh and/or his listeners, and it will show up whenever any of us click on http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/fr/involved?group=81. Kewl, eh?
My knowledge of the Crusades is sketchy, but if I had to wager on the truth of this statement, I would say it is false. It sounds too much like the burning black churches that Billy Blythe remembers from his childhood.
One of our founding ladies summed it up well:
"A patriot without religion in my estimation is as great a paradox as an honest Man without the fear of God. Is it possible that he whom no moral obligations bind, can have any real Good Will towards Men? Can he be a patriot who, by an openly vicious conduct, is undermining the very bonds of Society?-Abigail Adams
Krauthammer holds that this kind of fanaticism is unappeasable. All the leftists, the media self-appointed elite, the academics leading our universities down the wrong path, do not have a clue with their "hug a terrorist" themes.
As for America deserving what we are getting because of slavery and mistreatment of the Indians, I say, yes, we did take up slavery and yes, we did take the Indian lands and break treaties. But slavery was a prolonged and worldwide sweep of history involving many nations who bought and sold their fellow men, but you will notice that the West got over it and it is still practiced in many African and middle eastern countries today. As for the Indians, before the white man came, some tribes warred, fought, capturerd and enslaved other tribes and took their land. They were not the totally noble, agrarian, non-fighting tribes they are reputed to be by todays liberals.
This speech was self-serving, and a muddled jumble of liberal left nonideas.
