No, it's not laziness, it's faith. How do you know I'm not calling my Congresscritters? And what are they going to do, Hillary and Chuckie, to protect me? NADA! I am an activist in my own way. I'm on the 60 second activist list, and several others. I make my voice heard. But who is there to hear it? That's my concern. We're all doing what we can in our own way. My way may not be yours but I feel it works better than man's way any time.

A suitcase nuke isn't even the worst thing that could happen. What if the terrorists got a hold of one of the old Soviet nukes in the multi-megaton range. They could get an armed team of four or five terrorists that could storm any skyscraper in New York, Chicago etc. Then they could carry it to the roof and detonate it for maximum effectiveness. Most of the state would be gone after that.

No, we cannot detect a bomb that's properly sheilded--which isn't that hard. Uh.....N.E.S.T. has the capability of reading the minute quantities of leakage from behind the shielding.

I agree but I must nitpick one point. You said thousands of pounds of drugs get in "every year" . Change that to "every day" and you would be much more accurate. It is very easy to get anything you want into this country. Very easy...

Unfortunately delivery is easy - as simple as a truck on Broadway or a ship in the Hudson. There was a TV movie about this very topic, back in the 80s. I think it was aired on CBS. It was about how a small terrorist bomb blew up near New York or Boston. I think the show was called Special Bulletin or something like that.

I am remarkably sick of people like you, who think their state is so damned PURE simply because it went RED in the last presidential election. If we deserve to die, then so do you. In fact, I am actively hoping that you die at the hands of terrorists before I do, so I can post similarly callous remarks here about you by way of a eulogy.
I'll do it, too. You can count on it now.

Do you really think we are going to nuke ANYONE? We have lost our collective balls to PC. We wont nuke anyone until 5-10 US cities are gone, and its way too late....

Bibi is definiely a scare monger, but of course OBL and crew go for America first, for this simple reason: you nuke Israel, and al-Quds (the ARabic name for Jerusalem is gone). Strangely, the presence of Arabs nearby protects Israel, you can't design nukes to 'only' get Jews without killing a lot of Muslims too.

New York has Human shields - The United Nations. Hi jonatorn. But OBL detests the U.N., too. Two birds with one stone! best, bb.

I don't think the Arab world want to risk dying for this handfull. Where did you get your idea? The Arabs in America have said exactly nothing, and the Arabs overseas support bin Laden. Until they prove otherwise, the Arabs are willing to die for him.

It's clear that a multiple target "dirty" or regular nuke attack will happen here if we don't do something to forestall it. Seems to me that we need to make clear to the Arab world what the consequences will be for them if there is such an attack - no more Arab cities, no more Mecca or Medina, no more Arabs in fact. They must be deputized to find and kill the terrorists in their own countries and shut down the camps. Make it very clear to them they have no alternative. If we don't see any action in this regard, a demonstration of our intent may be necessary. Iraq comes to mind.

post 37 is right on the money. Its all about "sending a message" what message have we sent thus far? that we are a bunch of silly PC panty waists....
To: Pokey78
I think their first target will be D.C.

New York has Human shields - The United Nations. When all the UN bureaucrats simultaneously call in sick, head for the hills. (And it's a safe bet that Klintoon will already be out of the country.)

Im afraid that it will take other attacks and many more Americans killed before the US takes the proper action. Our government is still operating in a diversity mode. 40 years of liberalism is difficult to stop overnight.

Roger that on the dangers of a cargo ship carrying a weapon of mass destruction into the city. The guy in the container was IMHO what gave the whole thing away. If instead they had merely shipped somethin that was the right size and weight they could have had their dry run. The GPS signal might not get through the container but there could be alternative means of detonation. I do not really wish to go into them on an open forum. let them do it themselves.
Stay well - Stay saf e- Stay armed - Yorktown

I think you're right. The "root causes" nonsense is thoroughly rooted in the minds of many: "if we feel their pain they won't hurt us". Pfah.
I think, too, that too many people have the notion that these attacks can be prevented by passive security measures. They hope that the Nanny State will protect them.
