This came up on a recent thread. The Wall St. Journal reported that Allah Rakah (or Rakha) has been cleared by the FBI of involvement with anthrax or the Sept. 11 attacks, although as of 11/21/2001, he was still in jail on immigration charges. Here's the link to that FR post. Look at post #31, as well as several posts before and after it.

There are quite a few people now who have officially been cleared of terrorist activities, presumably because of insufficient evidence for an indictment, but who are conveniently still being held in jail on unrelated charges (like immigration charges or credit card fraud ).

We may have differences on the details, but I do agree that they already know who is responsible and are waiting for the right moment to speak up.

Thank you both for sharing information on this vexing issue. I find it hard to believe that authorities are not saying what they know or don't know and nobody is asking any questions publicly. There are some things in life that one expects to hear answers to and the anthrax attack on US citizens in FL, NY, & DC is one of those. I find it hard to fathom that the level of fear it caused across the US, as documented by all the emergency responses to various spilled powders, is not reason enough for authorities to explain who did what. I am reminded of the historic situation where the federal government clamped down on all news of Japanese balloon fire bombs during WWII so as to discourage Japan from sending more of them. It would be hard to use that reason in this case, as the US free press let the world know the panic that occurred in the US.

I strongly suspect they are withholding a lot of information in order to get everything ready to go after Iraq. I wouldn't be surprised to see a big "breaking news" story just before it all comes to a head.
