My 15 year old daughter was a fan early on, but now uses the term "skank" when describing Spears. And I didn't have any input in that (at least not directly).

My 11 year old step-daughter doesn't like Britney anymore because Britney stole her "man" (Justin of N'Sync).

My step-daughter also likes N'Sync, but not the Backstreet Boys. I guess you have to be 11 to even be able to tell the difference.

At age 11, my daughter loved Britney Spears. At age 13 she says Britney is phoney. Her favorite album now? The soundtract from "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou." Go figure.
