I grew up pretty free from prejudice, and lost what little I had during my years as an Air Force wife. I lived in Turkey and came to admire the Muslim values. Modesty and chastity mean as much to me as a Mormon as they do to Muslims, and I appreciate that. I have good friends of all colors, and I've even had gay friends, though that is always awkward given my values. HOWEVER, this situation is trying my tolerance. Louis Farrakhan IS a traitor. If American Islam does not reject terrorism and anti-American rhetoric, I will turn my back on American Islam. If worse is coming, I won't stand between the mobs and an enemy of my country, as I surely would do for any innocents of any faith. It seems to me that while some U.S. Muslim authorities have denounced 9/11 strongly enough to satisfy me, MOST HAVE NOT. I am not a prophet, but I have read history: There WILL be violence against them if there are more attacks within our borders, violence our President will not be able to restrain, if they do not stand up for the rest of us who have long welcomed them here in our melting pot, and against evil. I never feared any group of Americans before. DO THEY WANT TO BE CLASSED WITH BIN LADEN OR WITH AMERICANS? The choice is theirs.

You GO, girl. As an add-on to your excellent post, it seems that what the writer is saying is an in-the-streets version of Bush's statement: Either you are with us or you are with the terrorists. So, which is it? It's a fair question to ask on our home soil, since the terrorists ate American food, slept in American beds, flew on American planes, and destroyed American lives. It isn't just germane to people on foreign soil, not after September 11.

Well said ... except, unless I
knew that a particular group or individual was a part of the enemy ... I would still stand between them and a mob ... otherwise, you condmen others, maybe even ourselves, to the sdame treatment at a later date on a whim.
Given our own religious history ... this is apparent.
Having said that, I would not stand between them and legal, due process which called for their stating their absolute commitment to this nation and its liberty on pain of being detained or deported. Ala General Moroni.

I agree with this comment you made:
"Louis Farrakhan IS a traitor. If American Islam does not reject terrorism and anti-American rhetoric, I will turn my back on American Islam." But please, remember American Muslims who escaped these outhouse countries are not the ones interviewed by the press. Did the media make a big deal of the thousands of Iranian students arrested at pro-American candlelight vigils? No. It's the same frigging media that screwed over conservatives. They want a catfight. Please, there are many Muslims in this country who hate the goons who killed our people on 9/11. So please, don't give up Christian values for the terrorist. It gives them a win. "If worse is coming, I won't stand between the mobs and an enemy of my country, as I surely would do for any innocents of any faith.
