Good. It is high time that people begin to realize that the final chapters of Ezekiel have beans to do with present-day Russia. It was always pretty dubious arguing that, since Rosh sounds kinda like "Russia" and since "Meshech" and "Moscow" both have an M and a C in them than they're obviously one in the same. I would be most pleased in Hal Lindsey's swill finally goes to the dustbin where it belongs.
"If this is real it is very heavy and blows alot of popular eschatology out of the water....."

A careful reading of Ezekiel 38 and Revelation will show that the attack on Israel from the north corresponds to the post-millenium rebellion recorded in Revelation 20. Ezekiel 38 says Israel will be dwelling at peace in their land with unwalled (unfortified) cities--a millenial condition that has never existed in history.
IIRC he also equated Tubol with Tobolsk. If I've spelled those right, that is.
His book (TLGPE) came out when I was a fairly new Christian back in the early '70s, and it shook things up a bit, but it doesn't look like things have gone according to his timetable, does it? About the only specific thing I remember from his book is a chapter heading he called something like "Dancing Sheik to Sheik", but I seem to remember the theme of the book being that the end was near, and that "near" meant something substantially less than thirty years.
Don't be so quick! Russia and it's leadership could change dramatically in as little as 5-10 years.
