I agree with your intent....but sorry to say the so-called journalists would be an even greater danger to our soldiers if they were allowed anywhere near the front lines. It is the position of the "professionals" that they are journalists first. Mike Wallace was asked if he was with the enemy getting an interview and had advance notice of an ambush on American troops, would he try to warn them? He said no, he was there as an observor and his first job was to tell the story, not to take sides. I was livid when I heard it. I can guarantee that if that occurred and it was my husband or my son who was killed as a result, that journalist would be permanently retired.

I agree with both of you.

But do you really think they would tell where their sorry rears were?

My point was meant to be, it's easy to sit in comfortable safety and ask a lot of questions that don't need to be answered. They don't have anything else to do.

I wonder how it feels to go through life having done nothing? Just asking doers about what they do!

Every one of them should go before the public once a year and have a press conference, i.e., "Helen Thomas, WHY did you have to ask So-and-So about why he did so-and-so? Are you senile, Ms. Thomas? Can you prove that? The American public has a right to know the condition of your mental faculties."

"Dan Rather, what really happened to your hair."

"Mr. Jennings, when did you peter-out?"
