I don't follow the industry that closely, but I would not get all enthusiastic about a conservative rebirth just yet.

I agree with you. Some people on this thread are either naive or have an agenda. She's no friend of conservatives.

The big question now is - what direction will she take the Guild in?

What are the duties of the SAG president? You seem like you might know.

Shame that Jerry Doyle didn't unseat Sherman (limosine liberal).

I got a chance to talk to Mr. Doyle last year right before the election. Good solid fiscal conservative. He started out on Wall Street and got into acting on a fluke.

Also talked to Bruce Boxlightener, Melissa Gilbert's husband a year before that. He's a conservative, but a little light on policy details. From what I have seen of Melissa on the talk show circuit, she is a very bright conservative woman. Apparently she took advantage of the private schooling her acting paid for and probably went to a solid Ivy League University as well.

Must be tough working on the very liberal "ER" set though. But she seems to hold her own well though.

Now Valerie Harper wants a recount:

Still Counting

Just when the Florida voting is finally tallied up, yet another presidential race will be challenged. Screen Actors Guild presidential candidate Valerie Harper is challenging Melissa Gilbert's win, according to Variety. Harper lost to Gilbert by a margin of 1,588 votes.
