Where a formal "flash suppressor" is not legal, a compensator will do just fine. A little known fact to the Marxist who hates flash suppressors is that many compensators accomplish the same thing. The AK-74 (not 47) comp does very well at flash suppression.

They are better than nothing, and vary widely in their funneling of gas and light, but nothing hides the light like a regular slitted flash suppressor like those on the M-16 variants. They cut that light down from a glowing basketball to 6 little winks. That is really one accessory I would buy.
