Wait a minute, how can you duct tape a 55 gallon drum full of anything to the wall of a van? I suppose I'm ready to believe something like this might be true, but in this instance it just doesn't sound right.

i heard the update about 20 minutes ago, they stressed that numerous gas tanks were taped to the sides of the truck--didn't say the 6, 55 gallon tanks were.

I'm with you having done some moving work. It could be that the drums were held to the side with a 2-3 inch wide grey nylon winch end type tie-down hook end strap and the security guards, briefly seeing it in maybe a darkened cargo area, thought it was duct tape, because as you probably know, a drum full of any solid or liquid material would break loose of duct tape in a hard turn or stop.
