This is another example of this author's intellectual swindle - that you fell for. He asks the question and then quick -which shell is the pea under- the question is declared unanswerable and then - after another shuffle where you loose sight of the argument - voila - moral equivalency between the U.S. and terrorists.

Excellent response to a completely revolting and intellectually dishonest article.
The posts in this thread illustrate the futility of attempting to discuss the issue of "moral equivalency" with one who by virtue of a seared conscience clearly has no moral compass.....it's like trying to describe light to a blind man.
The only "equivalency" here is between the depraved mentality of those who make this argument and the Sept 11 murderers. They are equally dispicable.

....I mean, really, its not like there is no evidence that the US wouldn't doing somehting really drastic when it suits the US's purposes (here you can think: Dresden, or most any of the 61 cities of Germany in WW2 having population bases of 100,000 or more, or Nagasaki and Hiroshima).

Right. The only reason the civilized (and uncivilized) world is siding with the U.S. in it's war on terrorism and NOT ONE nation is siding with the Taliban....is because they think the U.S. will drop an A bomb on them.
Just like "Nagasaki and Hiroshima." Right.
Are you trying to make me laugh on purpose or what dude?

What is surprising is how many people here got themselves wrapped up in this poser. Other than this conclusion, this article has precisely zero content. Yet when I argued this folks thought that I am supporting socialists, Barbara Boxer and abortionsts. I am trying to understand it. What is so seductive about his empty rhetorical flourishes? I mean really what? Whether you are capitalist or communist this article is completely and utterly devoid of meaningful content.

You fellas seem unable to understand the whole concept of FR, at least as I see it.

-- I come here to read news & opinion, much of which I don't agree with. - I then comment on that info, to try to add to the exchange of ideas.

A lot of these 'exchanges' become heated overblown 'flame wars' because one, or both sides use unfair, unethical, unreasonable, methods to argue their points. [mea culpa, far too often]

These last underlined comments you have made above are a case in point.

Your point is a very good one....the lil ol 'you're for us or we'll take you out routine.....and, of course, we musn't forget that many are simply bought off with your money and my money....much like what passes for politicians here ini the States.
