"...On Thursday, I attended the first meeting of the Domestic Security Advisory Panel. The purpose of the meeting was to update the panel on the progress being made to improve current domestic security measures. It was also an opportunity for me to charge them with the responsibilities of finding and pursuing additional federal funding for security measures, identifying any security-related legislative requests, working with the President's Office of Homeland Security on a comprehensive national strategy, and implementing and evaluating the recommendations already in place in Florida.
