Most of the refugees coming here (which I would gladly accept) are actually fleeing the Taliban, the brutal, vicious mdeiavel scum that they are. It is typical of conservatives and Christians (which our Tory Government is) to deny these poor, harrassed people sanctuary. Now, if the Afganis were good Catholics like the East Timorese, we'd have 7500 troops there in a flash. Luckily there is an election on Nov 10 and we can get rid of the racist failure that has been Conservative Government in Australia.

I think on this issue Johnny did the right thing and I don't believe he did it for political reasons. There has to be some limit otherwise it will be open slather and get totally out of control. Keep em offshore till they can be evaluated to make sure they are genuine refos and not just looking for a better lifestyle.
