"Someone at some point has evidently falsely informed the Muslims that the word "jihad" scares the bejesus out of westerners. I always get that impression every time they trot out their standard line. They must think we won't be able to sleep at night because they have declared jihad. To me it's more like a child threatening to hold his breath until he turns blue. Do you figure the Muslims feel "jihad" is a serious thing or is it more like the bogeyman adults scare children with? "

- They believe one who practices Jihad will gain tremendously in the Hereafter. [93:4] "The Hereafter is far better for you than this first (life.)" The Koran commands: [2:244] You shall fight in the cause of GOD, and know that GOD is Hearer, Knower. [22:78] You shall strive for the cause of GOD as you should strive for His cause.... [ 4:74-75] Those who readily fight in the cause of GOD are those who forsake this world in favor of the Hereafter. Whoever fights in the cause of GOD, then gets killed, or attains victory, we will surely grant him a great recompense. Why should you not fight in the cause of GOD when weak men, women, and children are imploring: "Our Lord, deliver us from this community whose people are oppressive, and be You our Lord and Master."
