I respect your views but you don't respect ours.

There you go..... quote the exact place in my post that makes you come to this conclusion. Quit trying to be the victim - I'm the victim. My clean breathing air is getting stinky!! My posts are my opinions and my reactions to smoke. Quit lumping me in with your "anti-smoker campaign agenda". FWIW, I have not made one comment on whether or not a business should be smoking or non-smoking. If they allow smoke, I don't go there. Simple as that. My choice.

Dang, you smokers are a difficult and grumpy crowd.

I hear ya. One gal I used to work with, wore this Avon cologne, "Topez?" And it was so thick you could cut it with a knife. And it wasn't one of my favorites, either. So, I sure know what you mean there.

Have you ever sat next to someone in a restaurant that was always sucking in their sinuses? Now, you talk about gross! But when we are out in the public, that's what it is: the public. All peoples. the good, the bad, the fat , the ugly. Not: the good, the bad, the ugly but no smokers. heh!

"We used to get very good business from smokers in here during lunch and breakfast, but now they don't like it cause it's so closed in"

The problem with smokers is, that when forced to sit in a dedicated section, closed in with glass, they can actually find out how non-smokers feel. Like a fish out of water, or a bathroom attendant at the chili cook-off, trapped and unhappy about it. When the smoke gets too thick, they too don't like it. I am firmly convinced that if smokers would get off cigarettes long enough to get their smellers back in shape, they would overwhelmingly be disgusted by the smell left behind by this disgusting habit.

I would force no law but one on the smoking public, make tobacco products illegal. With that said, that is an either/or solution. Either criminalize the behaviour, or leave them be.....

I do not smoke around non-smokers unless outdoors or they don't have a problem with it. We own a bar and I hate the these smoking nazis who complain all night. There are a hundred bars to choose from but they know where the fun is but don't seem to join in. Maybe if they would proclaim a stink night once in a while they would have fun. :)Smokers are victims of the do-gooders. How does smoke get in your lungs? Maybe you should stay away from us????

You know what: my mother in law smoked all her life, but quit 15 years ago. She recently told me that is a bunch of hooey. She can taste or smell no differently know then when she smoked. And she is 86 years old. So, that's a bunch of hooey.

Ahhhh yes. The Conservative Socialists -- Government is good -- rights be damned -- crowd.

That is THE reason I left the Repukelican party. There are FAR too many communists and socialists in that vile organization.

How do you know "many" smokers want to quit!!
You sound like the propoganda mill that puts "500,000 people die of 2nd hand smoking" on billboards without offering any facts!!
I'll believe you if you can show me death certificates signed by doctors that attributed the death to 2nd hand smoking.
If you legislate against a particular industry, then it is only a matter of time when other industries will be targeted. That is Totalitariansm!!!!! Don't be so quick to pass new laws which takes another freedom away. Enforce the existing laws.

jeremiah! Smoking to you is a disgusting habit? Well, I bet "you" have some habits that "I" would find disgusting! We all have little things we like to do that isn't someone else's cup of tea.

I enjoy a cigarette before and after EVERYthing I do! Especially after a wonderful meal! Tops it all off. And a cigarette with my coffee is next to heaven. And coffee sure smells good to me! ahhhhhh!!!

Do you really consider yourself a victim! How very sad!!
We probaby should initiate a radio talk show and call it: bwaah, bwaah, I'm a victim, pass another law to protect me."
I don't mean to be unkind, but, I really am sick of hearing of Americans calling themselves victims. You are only a victim if you allow yourself to be victimized.

You know, I find it amazing. My grandparents smoked and all four lived into their 80's and 90's.

If a person dies of a heart attack, the doctor will attribute the death to a heart attack.

If a person dies of a heart attack, BUT they smoked, the cause of death is given as smoking. That is how these socialists are able to get by with their outrageous claims.

Such dishonesty is THE REASON I never listen to what anyone, even remotely associated with government, has to say about smoking.

The rampant lying is also the reason why our kids don't listen to them about the dangers of drug use.

Once a MORAL person learns that they are being lied to time and time again, they no longer listen, nor do they care what they have to say.

These creeps have ZERO credibility.

poet, it seems the more laws that are laid down, the more victims we have. You ever notice that?

LOL! I should have given the < /sarcasm> clue... All the smokers here are whining and crying "victim", IMHO.... Whose rights are being violated the most? My right to clean air or their right to smoke? That's the issue.

There is a huge honey pot of funding for the antismoker too. So to protest against the rights of the smoker is very lucrative today. That's why I said: the person that comes in here crying for smokers to be ousted either is getting funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, or they have been easily swayed, or they are just using us as a reason to show their ugly side. There is always a reason behind their rants. And they call "me" cranky!

Uh, maybe because they have told me?? Maybe you don't, but many do feel enslaved to the habit. It stinks, it's expensive and it ain't good for you. What about those facts don't you get? Why wouldn't somebody want to quit. Does nicotine screw up your logic, too?

My right to clean air or their right to smoke?

Are you saying smoking should improve the air? I'd like you to name for us, aside from earth's vegetation and air purifiers, anything that improves the air.

Certainly not the jet exhaust that spews it's dangerous chemicals over the land and all the inside the airport, since the airport inside air is obtained from it's outside air; certainly not the exhaust from autos, or barbecues. But anti-smokers don't mind breathing in these harmful chemicals. Why don't people whine about this? Have you ever stopped to think of the millions upon millions of cigarettes it would take to equal one days takeoff of flights from one airport.

Even the breath you exhale is a waste product. Maybe we should ground all aircraft, ban autos and barbecues, and ban people from breathing.

So tell me, what have you come up with that makes the air better?
