You are absolutely right ... Just because I detest the WOD some Bozo thinks I do drugs ... well it may be true that I live with a drug dealer but she worked hard for her Pharmacy degree and she has a right to sell drugs . That's as close as I get to them. I believe that a person has a right to make most decisions about there body. BUT I hate abortion Especially late term abortion. So am I a Libertarian ... I also think that immigration has got to be rigorously controlled. OOPS ... I guess I'm not a Libertarian. I'm totally for repeal of most if not all gun laws. There I go again ... I'm a Libertarian once more. I'm for limiting the Fed government to what was described by our founders and I believe in states rights. So what am I ???.... a free thinker that has alignment to several different philosophies. So whats wrong with choosing the best from each and forming an educated opinion without being labeled. As far Libertarians being child molesters and anarchists. That's just ignorance and/or stupidity talking ... plain and simple.
I know of no thinking person who agrees with any political party on every plank of the platform. As a matter of principle, it is, imho, more honest to openly disagree about an issue than to carry on as if it doesn't matter. Open borders (Libertarian platform) is nuts. Ideally free me could roam as they will, but then, this isn't an ideal world.
There's quite a bit of variance in Libertarian thought even here on FR. OWK is far more absolute than I. Not that I consider him wrong, we just disagree on some areas of implementation, not so much in principle.
Most L's on FR are shades of Pro-life vs being shades of pro-choice. And nearly all L's I actually know are pretty decent church-going types who really like their guns!
