Perhaps the shock of plunging from a 100 story office tower is enough render one unconscious.Does this often happen in New Mexico?

About 8 yrs ago, a guy fell to his death from the 52 nd story of a Toronto office tower, and the coroner determined that the shock of falling made his body limp on impact, consistent with being unconscious.

There is no reason to black out and one does not go into shock after making a decision.
