Crowd Goes Nuts Over President Bush At Yankee Stadium
Fox ^

Posted on 10/30/2001 4:27:15 PM PST by hawaiian

I hope everyone just got a chance to see President Bush just now at the World Series. The whole crowd was chanting "USA" and giving him a standing ovation. He threw a perfect strike, and he was absolutely magical.

You're right - and will we ever know what "normal" is again? i was just talking to a friend and told her how most nights now i walk outside - look at the stars - and then cry some more....this is my country - i love it - i'm proud of it - and damnit i'm po'd that these ba$tard$ have done whatever they can to destroy us....thank god we've got W. as our President. And it was great seeing him tonight and especially seeing the folks in NYC cheer him like they did....

Our Star Spangled Banner is a witness report written by Francis Scott Key as he was on board a ship...what he witnessed that night so inspired him that he wrote a song about it and that song has become our National Anthem. Even though the fort was being bombed heavily, our flag was still standing by morning....the American fort was Fort McHenry and the enemy the British. It took place 9/13/1814

Many people really don't follow politics that closely. But...now the people of New York know enough to chose between an impeached, discraced socialist that almost killed them all, or a true, brave, patriot like President Bush.
NY has , in the past, been a liberal state. But now, lets see what happens!!!!

You are so right, but you gotta love Bush's style.

"Cheney is where he needs to be. Line of succession. Cheney's Number 1 priority, ensuring the line of succession, not PR crap."

Michael Kaye said it was found in the wreckage of WTC, given to the New Providence NJ American Legion by an anonymous donor, which then gave it to the Port Authority of NY/NJ, which is loaning to the stadium. Go Yanks! Go NY! Go GW! God Bless America. I love this country.

It does make Britney Spears seem silly "Oops, I did it Again." I think she must have been threatened directly because she has disappeared as in totally.

Hmpgh...

I live in Long Island, Virginia about a half hour outside of Lynchburg and needless to say at night you can see the night sky crisp and clear without any city lights to hinder your view.

I live below an air corridor that Planes from Pittsburgh and Chicago O'hare use to travel down to Charlotte, NC.

I watch them all the time....almost clockwork....they pass over every 5 or ten minutes.

It was so wild to walk outside immediately after the 11th and not see one plane in the sky or hear the quiet distant rumble of their engines....not one.

That, among other things.....I will never forget.

ITS A FLAG

NOT A RAG

Has all the dems, rats and assorted lefties in a knicker twist...

I disagree. I like Dick Cheney spending all his time running the war effort. Makes me sleep at night. Let W. be the head of state and boost morale.

...Peter Jennings predicted that W. would be booed because of his statement that he always roots for whoever (whomever?) plays against the Yankees....then he chuckles and said, "then we know things are back to normal in NYC"...

I suspect Yankee fans know a real baseball fan when they see one, and they respect him for it. They don't need or want the phony platitudes they usually get from politicians. (I won't mention any NAMES...)

we need all the luck we can get - but let me tell you, last year at this time I was in Baton Rouge for the LSU-Bama game and at the hotel that night (and this was after the DUI story broke) i made the statement in the hotel lounge that if God would left W. win the election that next tuesday, then I could live with Bama losing to LSU....Everyone there (and we were all BAma fans) hollered and cheered - yes, a bama fan (in fact, many bama fans) was willing to lose to LSU in return for W. winning...now is that patriotism or what????? ROLL TIDE ROLL

The British ships took up their station on 9/11/1814. That was the last time our 'homeland' was invaded. Apparently the guns of the ships had a longer range than those of the Fort, so all the military in the fort could do was withstand the bombing and be prepared to fire on the ships if they tried to come any closer to the city. Not only was Francis Scott Key watching the flag, but so was everyone in Baltimore which was about to be invaded. The flag and the anthem have tremendous significance in time of war.

One huge unintended beneficial consequence of 9/11/01 is the crash course in patriotism our children are learning.

That's what my husband said - "FROM THE RUBBER! FROM THE RUBBER!" :)

And great pitch, straight across the plate. My comment was - no pomp, no fanfare, just throw the pitch and wave and head off the field. A class act. We taped it, it's a keeper.

Ugh. I was at my parents this weekend, I wondered out loud who would throw the first pitch of the first game and my dad said "Hillary" and cackled evilly while I gagged. ;)
