OK, you know how to hurl weak insults and ridicule. Sure convinces me.

I REALLY don't care about the news source of the photo. I care about its authenticity. Look at the far lower left and right corners of the 'billboard' image. Perfectly straight. Compare the to the top of the image. This is sloppy work done with Photoshop or similar to paste a screen image or jpeg onto another photo. The image itself, to a reasoned eye, looks like a screen shot. Who in the middle east would pay for such a hi-res billboard to make an absurd political statement. That kind of print is expensive in a large format.

Learn to do photo interpretation. USe your head. I am not saying anything about the U.N., Israelis, etc., etc. Just that the photo is a fake and you ARE being duped by it, or are attempting to dupe FReepers.

Now, instead of attacking me, come back with a reasoned response.

A fake, I agree. Among other things, it would be casting a shadow towards the observer. The tourist guy should be in this picture.

...looks fake ...

Kind of like the "Baby Milk Factory" sign we saw 10 years ago.

It's on Excite.com, too. They must be in on the conspiracy along with Yahoo and Reuters. The photographer for Reuters, Karamallah Daher, is probably be a Mossad agent. Nice Jewish name.

You miss my point. I don't care how many times it's posted or by whom. As posted, it is visibly altered.

Get over it.

I have serious doubts you know what you are talking about.

You make the allegation this is a fake and then another person produces a fake and you consider that proof?

It is obvious that you are not a trained image analyst because if you were you would know that blue around any object or picture causes an illusion of brightening what is contained within it.

If you really examine the photo there is way more evidence that the photo is real than there is evidence of tampering.

Your friends at Hizbollah, obviously. So when you finally realize it is a true photo, will you still acknowledge that it is absurd or will you change your tune?

I cannot tell you how amused I find it that you are refusing to believe that hizbollah is this stupid. Is the bliss nice?

look smart guy. all I said is that the pic LOOKS FAKE. I didn't say anything about a Jewish conspiracy with AP and Reuters or any other tin foil hat crap. I also never professed myself as an "expert", just a guy who doctors photos for fun. I've seen a lot of doctored photos and IT LOOKS FAKE. that's all I'm saying.

also, why the hell would these clowns put a billboard up in the middle of the desert.

OK first, take a look at the pic. The billboard colors are very very sharp. They aren't in line with the rest of the colors in the photo. It also looks to me like the guy is looking too far to the left of the billboard to be looking at it, which might lead one to believe the billboard was added into the photo later.

FWIW (probably nothing)

You called yourself out as a specialist.

The photo you claim looks fake is on the Wire / Yahoo / Reuters.

The photo is posted on the 1 year aniversary of the Hezbollah kidnapping and is on the Lebanon - Israeli border with Israel, it happes to be a desert.

While a photo may look fake or unreal, that is a far cry from being unreal. While your opinion is certainly valid, you are fighting solid facts - a sources press photo, with pure speculation. Further, you cite not one fact that supports it is a fake.

I did look at your link, as I thought you may have been an expert, but your photos are all quite clearly doctored and shed no light on the validity of this Press Photo.

I said I specialise in fake photos as a joke, maybe you missed that part of my post. Never did I claim to "be a specialist". Who cares WHERE they're posted at. It may be fake or real, I'm simply saying it LOOKS fake.

The wire service photo from Reuters has been up a day and a half now. If it were fake it would have been removed as there would have been complaints.

Most of these complainers on FR have another agenda it seems.

How common is the surname Avraham over there? My old boss was an Avraham, and between seeing this and reading on 9/12 that there was an Avraham on one of the doomed 9/11 flights, I worry that they might actually be relatives of his.

Believe what you wish. I believe what I see is readily identifiable as an altered photo.

To tell the truth, I read NOTHING of the article associated with the post. It did not interest me. My only point to you guys is that the photo has numerous characteristics and artifacts that make it blatantly apparent.

MY level of expertise in graphic arts, photo interpretation and manipulation will remain a secret to you because you have no need to know.

Like I said before, believe what you want to. You will anyway.
