US troops should prepare for battle with the former soldiers of the Kosovo Liberation Army, officials in Washington are warning. A year after Nato launched a bombing campaign to rescue the KLA, Pentagon commanders have formally alerted the US military that it expects to have to engage its former allies 'this spring'.

That is the real question. It is and was a known fact that the Albanian KLA is a Muslim terrorist group that has been funded by Bin Laden for yrs, and these were the ones we were standing with and bombing our allies (the Serb Christians). They are the drug running terrorists throughout the Balkans, making millions and I mean millions.( a very well known fact by our state dept at that time).

We armed them, we trained them, stood with them and bombed the h#@ out of our Serbain Christian allies, go figure. Nice job, Xlintoon.

Very true all that you said. I will never forget, a few days before the bombing, there was a website or our govt. showing actual photographs of lyme ovens that the Albanian KLA used on Serbian women and children, but ! 2 days after the bombing that website no longer there. It showed photos of our US inspectors pointing out the ovens.

Yes, we are paying now, just as I dreaded and predicted throughout that whole war, we will pay for this down the road ,and now, here we are. God help us.

BTW Al Queda was operative in the Balkans with many of the itinerant Islamic fighters from Afghanistan... who are mostly Arabs, Saudi and Egyptian.

Please look at this link. It goes to cargolaw.com and other photos and chronicles. I am not a detonation expert, but does something look wrong about these photos? or please explain to me how so much damage occurred going upwards from below the water line?
Somewhere in FR's archives are threads on the Cole that cite their port of call immediately before the port call in Yemen which was never proven necessary, but the archives are still down.
It seems to me it was Bulgaria or somewhere like that where we had never been before and it was purely a diplomatic call for show. I found it searching Marc Rich.
The reason it comes to mind is the Bin Laden link now to the Balkans we didn't have before as a stated fact, yet the rhetoric now from EVERYWHERE is exactly the same as it was then. Tom Franks is in charge of THIS operation after clearing everyone of malfeasance involving the USS Cole and I get a very painful jabbing in my gut every time I see him. He has already jeopardized this mission once by disallowing our forces to shoot a target that would have ended this three days after it started and we wouldn't be hearing interviews with the likes of Albright, Richardson, and Rom Emanuel, (Mr. Amanpour,) EVEN on Fox as if they were true statesmen with their historical revisionist script planted firmly in their frontal lobes and not merely useless props on the Clinton stage.
When Donald Rumsfeld is trying to do a press conference, you can see the frustration on his face with each passing day. He is like Superman without his powers and there have been far too many blunders. It looks as if Bush has been set up. Big time.
I wrote this last night, Oct. 30, 2001, but couldn't access the archives or find anything about the USS Cole before the bombing on any search, so I waited, hoping the archives would be up today. No such luck.
Now I hear that Slick has an executive order in place no one really knew about that even limits law enforcement capabilities here on terrorists. The FBI is having fits. It was on O'Reilly, and I'm waiting for the rerun at 11:00 PM, EST.
