I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but I found it helpful to cry this morning while watching your slideshow. I've been crying since last night off & on.
The new terrorist warning, both my parents flying on different flights tomorrow, talked to my only sister who works 3 blocks from WTC and can't stand the smell or being on the 30th floor anymore and who is also flying home on Thanksgiving Day, suitcase nukes, new anthrax case and to top it off, I watched the show "Third Watch" last night. Just thinking of what those firefighters, cops and EMT's are still dealing with everyday just sent me over the edge.
I hate feeling this way.
Awesome actually, and I believe needed to remind us that we can't get bogged down in petty bickering about anthrax threats and who isn't telling us enough. Or complaining that our government is telling us too much or berating them because they can't explain what they can't even begin to understand yet.
Thanks for alerting me to this. When we forget how this war on innocent people began, we need to replay this tribute.

An absolutely magnificent 911 memorial file is at risk of digital death. The file remains up, but is in Flash format, which is scheduled to go poof in a couple months. Slow updaters will be able to view it somewhat longer, but this really deserves to be converted and reposted in a format with legs. Flash has been discouraged for years so I hadn’t realized it had been scheduled to die at the end of this year. I did manage to convert it to a .mp4 file of good quality using Swivel, but alas taking up 310MB instead of the original’s 7MB. Several other free alleged conversion tools failed me in a variety of ways. There should be some active format that can achieve both the quality AND the relatively small file size of the original, but I don’t know what that would be, much less how to convert this old, probably not fully standard, Flash file. And I don’t know contact the folks who’ve been hosting this for the past nearly 20 years, whom I’m confident do care about it.
