CNN is reporting the emergency evacuation of a large passenger aircraft on the ground at Dulles airport. The plane is isolated, and the passengers are exiting the aircraft via the emergency slides (as opposed to the gate). Developing

The plane was on the way to Dallas, but was held because of an undisclosed threat. Arrivals are being held.

Ever see Die Hard 2? That takes place in Dulles Airport. Terrorists take over the ILS (instrument landing system) and threaten to crash planes one by one unless the airport releases some drug lord who is due to fly in that night. Funny, an another thread I was mentioning the movie "The Siege", another Bruce Willis movie. Let's hope the movie Armageddon doesn't come true!

Flight originated at Laguardia (New York)

Diverted TO Dulles while enroute to Dallas Texas.

The threat was apparently recieved while in flight.

No specifics as to the nature of the threat.

Even in these tough times, I still can't stomach Greta van Susteren. Her voice makes me physically ill. Knowing she's a Scientologist doesn't help, either.

It does madden me that I hear so much breaking news here, but it takes FOREVER to make it to the networks. It gives the impression that they don't care. I realize they need to verify (check and re-check facts), but still...
