In the past, it was illegal to run or appoint known communists to government posts. There was and is a very good reason for this. If you do not believe in our form of government, then you will not uphold and defend the Constitution.

And if you are a socialist or commnunist placed in a position of power-- you can use the power of your office to effect the overthrow. So the very justifialbe concern was, why should we let people use our own government and our own government resources to take us down?

How can the Republic stand if the people running it act overtly to pass legislation that undermines and weakens it? How can it stand if the people running it want it destroyed? You have seen over the last 50 years an invasion of public institutions by communists and socialists. You can see the affect that it has had on our culture. We were once a mighty, righteous nation. We are now so weakened that a dirt-poor, medieval scrap of a country has attacked us, killed thousands of our people, and forced even more totalitarian changes in our government. This is happening because we have elected and appointed people in our government who want to see freedom's downfall.

Once we had laws to punish people who commmitted treason or were attempting to subvert our government. Now we just elect them Senator from New York! (She's not the only one, I am sorry to say)

I think its a little dangerous to run around arresting popularly-elected politicians (even if the people are deluded). I don't care if Joseph Stalin himself is sitting in the House of Representatives. When we have Big Government running around telling people what views are pro-American and what views are anti-American, who knows what abuses may result. And you just know the Rats are going to come out and scream, "Republicans don't care about the poor—they're anti-American." Much as I'm loathe to admit it, they're going to be more RAT Presidents in the future and we're going to have more Renos. I don't want to set any precedent that could allow the Rats to crack down on us. We can fight them—and beat them— on issues without putting them in jail.
