I didn't know what to think, he said it as if it was privelidged information of some sort that he was revealing to me, as if he knew there was some sort of incident going to happen on Monday, October 29.

I went to the cops there and told them what he said, and they dismissed it as a crank.

He did not look like some loser, not really, he was clean, adequately dressed, just a normal person.

5'10, Green German Army-type jacket, Jeans, about 45 to 50 years old, greying hair, almost shoulder length, last seen heading north on Broadway towards Times Square.

Sounds like a garden variety nut to me. Someone with a great need to be "in the know". A crazy-happy-to-waste your time, and by extension the police time. Sounds like either a purveyer of paranoia or someone winding you up. The kind of guy who might send powder throught the mail with an anthrax threat.Take with the regulation sniff of salt. (Yes, pedants, I know the usual expression is grain!) Hey - final thought - maybe he has been inhaling the toxic fumes from the still-burning WTC. I can't help but think all the isolated incidents lately that have added up to nothing, actually add up to something. Like the Egyptians who weren't "used" to flying trying to open a window on a plane. I've never flown and I know better than that. And the confetti in the air vent. Excuse me but who in this day and time is going to get near an air vent with anything? And then there's the rumors of warnings here and there, like yours. I think there are those out there purposely "creating" these incidents, to keep us worried. I fear that soon they will no longer be "non-incidents".

I would defenately drop a dime to the FBI on this weirdo. If I'm not mistaken, the World Series shifts back to NYC (Bronx) on Monday. The FBI can check this guy out and warn the Yankies security to be on the lookout for this guy or other suspicious activity (as if they weren't on alert anyway.)

Sounds like this guy has some kind of terrorist act planned for the "peaceniks"---is there any peace demo scheduled for Monday? If I'm right, the only "shift in attitudes" will be FOR the peaceniks, and homegrown terrorism of the kind I think this guy is planning will become entwined with our own anti-terrorism effort on the "homefront". This has got disaster written all over it: what better VRWC scenario could you think of? OTOH, the guy may just be walking around trying to be "charismatic".

FBI was interested and took notes, made sure they had my phone number and address ok. They took it seriously, but not in a panic, but treated me like I was credible.

1. Maybe he does know something, like something that has already happened or has already been discovered, and that they are just waiting to "officially" tell us. (It is my opinion that there has been a timing of news so that we get pretty much one thing fed to us each day, whether it's one new place where anthrax found or another death, so we don't freak out. FR is a good example... Things happen here first! But even FR might not know all.) 2. Was this guy Middle Eastern looking?? Or did he have some sort of accent?? And, are you from NYC?? In other words, are you good at identifying crackpots?? Hopefully, it was just a crackpot (My brother ran into one of those on the subway just a couple of weeks after WTC attack who said something like we are all going to be bbq meat, crispy and such next week, that totally freaked him out. Nothing happened.) If you really feel strongly about it, definitely contact FBI and police. And see what others who were there think. Hopefully it was nothing!
