The first thing that came to mind was when the Clinton Administration had dubed Free Republic as a hate group.

Further, the militia has a very important role to play in Homeland Security and should not be attacked or disbanded again!

A right-wing conspiracy is wild speculation, and a serious misjudgement of the the FBI analyst. For the sake of argument the left could equally be blamed, however I don't see this, from either side!

The country is together like never before!

The truth is we are infiltrated by immigrants with loyalties to foreign governments.

They are the sleepers who have been active for years in planning.

If these reports are true, the FBI is going down the wrong road, because they are so far behind these guys (years), and political correctness is blinding their objectivity to perform analysis!

Still, as the evidence mounts of al Qaeda and Iraqi involvement, the FBI seems hellbent on looking the other way.

The Bush Administration isn't saying much. Looking at "all leads" doesn't mean they are putting Iraq on the back burner... Investigations take time. Why point the finger publically at Iraq yet if we aren't ready to act against them? The media has been spinning the "right-wing hate groups" line. I'm sure many left-wing hate groups are also being investigated. Bottom line, the media has continuously represented their own theories as coming from the Bush administration, even when they didn't.

These "senior officials" in the FBI are the Clinton holdovers who thwarted any investigation of actual ME terrorists in the US since '94. Bush's executive branch is loaded with Clinton holdovers. Every single one of them could have been forced into early retirement by now, or reassigned to other departments to get them out of the loop.

This maintenance of the status quo in the DoJ and other federal departments has been every bit as disappointing as Bush's cabinet choices.

The word "Clintonized" sends far more shivers down my spine than "anthrax" or "smallpox" ever could.

In a move reminiscent of the botched FBI investigations of the Clinton era, the bureau is actively pursuing weak leads suggesting "right-wing hate groups" are involved in the recent wave of anthrax attacks on the U.S.

Newsmax.Com has increasingly become as myopic and irrelevant as Salon and WorldNetDaily. They are patently unable to follow the dictum "we report, you decide."

In the end I think that it will be shown that there has been very credible evidence to suggest these "attacks" were domestic, and that's why the FBI pursued these leads. But for the little-minds at Newsmax--a place I used to enjoy going for "another take" on the days' news--anyone who DARES to criticize "right wing hate groups" is Bill Clinton all over again.

Never mind that very few true conservatives, FReepers for example, would find the stated agendas of such groups to be acceptable. Even the defense of Tim McVeigh has always run to "he didn't do it alone, he was set up." Very few have tried to defend his expressed beliefs, or rationalize his actions (as some on the Left are prone to do their own extremists).

But Newsmax is going to ignore that, and shoot the messenger.

I predict a short life span for Newsmax, if this keeps up.

The myth of the rightwing hate group needs to be debunked. It is not that some on the right do not hate--most humans probably hate someone or something. The serious point is that hate is not the motive for wanting to preserve a heritage. Love is the motive for wanting to preserve a heritage. Hate is the motive for wanting to trash other people's heritage and values. Hate is the motive of the Left, not the Right. (See How To Identify The Bigot In The Argument.)

It sounds from this article that we need to have a reevaluation of certain people in the FBI. I don't believe they would be going off half-cocked, like this, if they were still guided by the moderate, broadbased American views of J. Edgar Hoover. This is more of the sort of crackpot tangent exhibited in the Randy Weaver and Waco cases.

But, frankly, let us hope that we are all wrong to be concerned; that they are all focused in the most practical direction to find the answers we all desire. I, for one, really do not want to be right in this concern.

This may be a couple of dumb thoughts, and I'm not one who goes for conspiracy theories, however, it occurred to me a week or so ago, that Anthrax has certainly caused a panic (a known to whomever it is that has sent this stuff in the mail). Since it would be a known to cause panic (especially since it was sent to the media--which likes to self-report, and politicians (who have the same problem), the perpetrator would figure they'd get "free airtime." With the free airtime comes free information through the media. The perp. is learning how the postal service and government will detect future Anthrax mailings.

What if this is some kind of "dry run" for the real terror to be unleashed through the mail? Whomever did this has gained valuable information in the past couple of weeks.

Second thought, suppose the FBI is making statements about it being a "right wing group" because they are trying to throw off their suspects. How do we know that Russia hasn't released some of their small pox virus? I think they know more than they're letting on.

It is going to take more than a Bush appointee to head the FBI to cause me to regain any confidence in the agency since, Ruby Ridge, Waco, OKC bomber trials and investigations, etc. I am willing to give them a chance but this always looking for a right wing kook attitude has go to change, especially when we are at war with Islamic Fundamentalists bent on our destruction.

Right-Wing Hate Group

Is that the opposite of a Left-Wing Love Group?

Newspeak at its worst....

If these smarmy bastards don't stop this, they just might end up with nobody to fight their war.

"Everything seems to lean toward a domestic source," one senior FBI official told the Washington Post Saturday.

Funny how the chicken-sh*ts at the Washington Post don't name the source.

It is not the Clinton FBI. It is Mr. Bush's FBI. He's the boss and he's the one who appointed the new director.

That is why they are called the federal bureau of incompetence, or the federal bureau of ignorants,

God help this nation with the fbi as the investigative arm we need to rely upon, they are, if it is possible, even less trustworthy than the nightly news with petey jennings.

Alibek's advice notwithstanding, Special Agent Rene Salinas told the paper, "At this time, there are no plans to go back and check (Atta's car and apartment) for traces of anthrax."

Yeppers... if you "see" the evidence... you have to deal with it. Easier to point fingers, make a confused mess out of the investigation, then hope it fades into oblivion. They are protecting SOMEONE, imho.

To FBI Lurkers:.....

Name the Right Wing groups that are responsible for the terror attacks!.... Name them now...right here on this Website...or tell us where to go to get the list. If you cannot, or will not, shut the f**k up and go find out who is really doing the dirty work. It's easy to blame people who love their Country, but not necessarily their *government* for actions perpertrated by sick, demented, rag-headed, stone-age, Christian-hating, radical Moslem jerks. It is easier to round up "the Right Wing" than to track down the real terrorists, isn't it?...no real effort has to be done...just jump in your car and pick them up....besides, rounding up the WRWC always makes the communist democrat politicians happy...more money for the effort!

I finger Clinton along with all the other pols who have underfunded and continue to underfund our public health system. Germs and bacteria respect no borders and have a nasty way of sneaking up on all of us. Think of the flu pandemic of 1918-1919 - 40 million dead world wide. You can run from this stuff and you can't hide. The best defense is a good offence - a well funded, well trained public health system just as the best military defence is a well funded army, navy, airforce etc.

The FBI and U.S. Postal Inspection Service -( ???) are considering a wide range of domestic possibilities, including associates of right-wing hate groups and U.S. residents sympathetic to the causes of Islamic extremists ie: LEFT-WING Hate Groups.

This is eerily familiar... domestic terrorist McVeigh blows up building by himself, no ties to anyone else, we don't have to be concerned or go to war... no enemy nations involved. Nothing to see here... Move along now...
