From the Who Started First archives. I started with 16K of RAM and a rubber keyboard (so there).

Now in my day, sonny, we had 35 baud (that's right, 35 baud not 35K baud, 35 baud) and only paper tape for output.

We really have come a long ways - helped to a large extent by a visionary named Gates who established The Standard. For better or worse, it became the standard that allows virtually anyone on this planet to communicate and share text, graphics, video, etc., etc.

Hi, this is invoman's wife. I'm a network admin for our city. On a personal note, my hubby has an HP PC loaded with Win ME. He's going to reload everything to where it's just a clean PC w/ Win ME, no programs loaded. Is it advisable to upgrade to XP from this type of scenario without any problems? Or would you recommend a dual boot? On the other side of the fence, I'm wary of the XP system, and I run 2000 pro at work without any problems. I'm looking to get another PC at home where I can perform my network duties on an NT network. Does XP Professional log into an NT domain, or should I just stick with purchasing 2000? I appreciate your input, and thank you for your time. Kitt

Holy cow ! I read about you guys ! Ok , I also read about when folks would log onto the web and come home from the office , then connect an hour or more after that . I agree , for better or worse it beats the snot out of what the older paradigm was . Dont forget to thank Al Gore for all of his contributions ! ( gag me ) , Big Time . I never liked having to settle for but I value what we have now , and what the future holds for all of us .
