RSS call: Don’t bank on police, arm yourself

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh clearly doesn’t think too much of the ability of the government and the security forces to fight terrorists and anti-social elements. Or so suggests the sangh leadership's Vijaydashmi message to its members asking them to keep arms at home — to defend themselves.

This message was relayed to RSS members at Vijaydashmi functions in the capital. They were told to acquire weapons — licensed firearms or any other kind — and keep them handy to deal with any situation as the police alone cannot be trusted to protect them when they are attacked.

"The Sangh members were told to remove fear from their minds and rouse the society around them. The first step towards this is to get personal arms and keep them ready at home to deal with any situation," said a senior leader.

This call will remind many of a camp organised some months ago by the VHP's youth wing, Bajrang Dal, to train its activists in the use of rifles. Apprehensions were then expressed that the Bajrang Dal may use the trained shooters in the Ram temple campaign of the VHP. But the VHP leadership had dismissed these fears saying the activists were being trained only to protect themselves from terrorists.

The same reason was cited for today’s call. The members were reportedly told that while the government would deal with terrorism activity in Kashmir, the North East and other areas in the country, people should do their bit.

The National Volunteers Association (Rashtriya - National, Swayamsevak - Volunteers, Sangh - Association) of India was founded in Nagpur (India) in 1925 by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, and is a right-wing nationalist movement that has networks in India and other parts of the world. Hedgewar was personally and profoundly effected by the Nagpur riots (1923 - Hindu-Muslim riots). The RSS is paramilitary in origin. They were banned after the assassination of Mohandas K. Gandhi (Mahatma Gandhi) as socialists in the government of India at the time had implicated them as being involved. It is estimated that over 30,000 members were imprisoned during the martial law of Indira Gandhi in the 1970's in the first week of Indira's declared "Emergency", a total of 105,000 detainees, 80,000 cadres, seventy had died in custody. In the 1920's, the RSS claimed that vulnerability of the general population is what will led to the "Muslim terror" which if the world does not awake, by the next Century it will be "striking the world" because the foolisth British government (of the British Raj in India, and which aspects of the government were accused of being sympathetic to Mohammedans) does not understand the Islamic threat.

The Hindustan Times (India 10, 27, 2001) is also reporting that the chemical additive to the Anthrax of the type sent to US Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle that keeps the spores airborne is a trademark of Iraq's biological weapons program.

The following is a picture of personal valuables donated by Pakistanis to support the Taliban. Pakistan was formed after the partition of India in the late 1940's, consisting of Muslim majority and others who emigrated to Pakistan of Islamic fundamentalism. During the partition, multi-millions died, as many during the horrific human migration of Muslims to Pakistan and Hindus, Jains, Buddhists and Sikhs to India out of the North-West regions which became Pakistan, the total millions murdered or otherwise dead unknown, not including the multitudes butchered in the Hindu-Muslim riots. One of those who emerged from that human migration and the riots was one of the assassins of Gandhi. You will not understand, by reading the histories authored by socialists and the liberal left, the monster of how it happened, and can happen again. And, it really has very little to do with poverty. There is another story, that has to do with how everyday events conceal the real foot prints of history.
