COSHOCTON, Ohio, Oct 26 (Reuters) - Two Ohio men who threw
beer bottles at a woman in a car paid the price on Friday --
they had to parade through the center of their hometown dressed
as women.
Jason Householder, 23, and John Stockum, 21, walked around
downtown Coshocton, population 12,000, for an hour Friday
afternoon wearing dresses, wigs and makeup.
Coshocton County Municipal Judge David Hostetler passed the
sentence on Oct. 18, telling the men they could either comply
with his order or go to jail for 60 days after being convicted
of criminal damage. He also fined them $250 each.
Hostetler, who often imposes unorthodox sentences, says he
does so because of overcrowding in the Coshocton County Jail.

Didn't Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon make this movie?

These Reuters dudes might be neocommies but at least they are funny.
I like the article, throwing bottles and the sentence.

Hehehe! (Paraphrasing heavily) Don't criticize a woman unless you walk a mile in her high heels.

I love the sentence i heard suggested by a judge to have the offender wear a sandwich sign for
30 days 24 hours a day, stating their crime in specific detail, and if they are caught with it off, they serve 6 months in jail with no
TV or any reading materials.
Much better.....

THE TWO Idiots should be in jail along with the Judge.

MANILA, Oct. 26 Kyodo - Philippine President Gloria Macapagal- Arroyo said Friday she will put trade and investment issues aside during part of her upcoming state visit to China to serenade Chinese President Jiang Zemin with a love song.
Arroyo told a news conference that she is bracing for a round of karaoke during a state dinner to be held in her honor. ''(That's) part of the duties of a head of state,'' she said laughing.
With a sheepish grin and a heavy sign, Arroyo said that upon the advise of former President Fidel Ramos, she has rehearsed the classic Filipino love song ''Minamahal Kita (I love you)'' for the expected singing session with Jiang.
Jiang is known as an avowed crooner who loves to sing during some official state functions, and encourages his guests to join him.
Ramos had done his homework when Jiang paid a three-day state visit in the country in November 1996, and feted the Chinese leader to a sing-along cruise aboard the presidential yacht around Manila Bay.
Ramos, who even had song booklets prepared for the event, sang ''Let Me Call You Sweetheart'' and ''Love Me Tender'' among many other American and Filipino classics, while Jiang crooned ''Swanee River,'' an American classic.
In their official talks, Arroyo said she and Jiang are expected to take up their dispute over the Spratly Islands and a recent kidnapping incident involving Chinese engineers working in the southern Philippines.
Arroyo is due to visit Hong Kong on Sunday before going to Beijing on Oct. 29. She is due to be back in Manila on Oct. 31.
She said three bilateral agreements will be signed during her visit, including one on fighting transnational crime and another that would allow for people convicted of crimes to be repatriated to carry out their sentences in their country of origin.
But Arroyo said that Filipinos convicted of drug trafficking in China, who are to be meted capital punishment, would remain where they are. ==Kyodo 2001-10-26 19:50:21 |

I would punish her to 10 bowls of rice.
No silverware, no wooden sticks, just sickle and hammer.
