Not that I'm an expert, but remember Strom Thermond (sp?) just collapsed last week. That would be another Republican senator gone. And word is, when that happens, his Democrat governor would replace him, of course, with a Democrat.

Great post. I watched this SOB in the Ashcroft nomination. He is despicable. He threatens political comity in the Congress more than any other single person (with the possible exception of Hillary). When will the people of Vermont wake up? Or perhaps they would secede and join Quebec.
