Sung to American Pie

It wasn’t very long ago…
I can still remember how
That our Nation’s freedom used to make me smile.
And I knew that if given the chance,
That precious freedom; lives would enhance,
And would make our citizens happy for a long, long while.

But Sept. 11 made me shiver,
With every paper I’d deliver,
Bad news on the doorstep…
I couldn’t take one more step.
And I remember all the tears I cried
When I read about how many died
But something touched me deep inside
The day our Freedom died.

So…
Sky high our American Pride
On that dreadful morning when it opened our eyes
Our Nation united under tragedy’s sky
Singin’, “This will be the day that we Rise,
This will be the day that we Rise.”

They thought they could steal our Patriot love,
But we showed our faith in God above.
The strength in our resolve began to glow.
And now it’s time to “rock ‘n roll”
And mete out justice for those many souls
And teach the world that Freedom dies real slow.

So take heed Saddam and bin Laden.
You will soon pay for your ghastly sin.
We’re coming after you.
You’re reign of terrorism’s through.
We’re rollin’ in just like a big Mack Truck.
American Cowboys on our broncin’ bucks.
You bastards just ran out of luck,
And now it’s time to die.

And we’re singin’
Sky high our American Pride.

Our Nation united under tragedy’s sky.

This will be the day that We RISE!!

Now President Bush is as solid as stone.
And as a nation, United we’ve grown.
But that’s not how it used to be.
We’ve gained support from the world’s kings and queens
From Britain to Japan and all in between.
And the voice of support that comes from you and me.
Bin Laden thought that he could bring us down.
But he soon will lose his evil crown.
Justice will not be spurned.
A death sentence has been returned.
Now US bombers will provide the spark.
As special forces close-in in the dark.
Your ass will have no place to park.
Our FREEDOM has not died!!
