It might also be helpful for him to have a voice spectrum analyzer...that is used by speech pathologists working with voice disorders. This would provide feedback as to where his voice is...and perhaps it could be overlayed on a spectrum analysis from previous tapes of his show prior to hearing loss as an assistive strategy for him.

Rush is and will continue to succeed...

1. He knows his mind and heart about issues and politics and loves giving his opinion of them.

2. He's a professional through and through. He strives to put on the best show possible and has had a solid format in place for years.

With this, number three is a given.

3. He and his staff is adapting to this situation to tools and signals. The staff, his wife, and others will give him guidance and input of how he sounds vocally, coaching him to sound as normal as ever. It'll be much easier for him to do so than for someone who's been deaf their whole life. And devices such as the one Common Tator suggests will develop his senses even more than they are going to now.

Praying for ya, Rush! You go, Guy!

"He doesn't have a target anymore," he said. "What if Howard Stern couldn't talk about breasts? There's half his show. With Rush, it's the same thing if you take away Bill and Hillary and the Democrats. I think the show is already declining."

I remember some idiot author of some idiot history book wrote after Klintoon got elected that Rush was a radio commentator in the "early '90's". He had the history written before it happend. Now that so-called "historian" is sucking Rush's farts.

His detractors have been predicting his demise from day one, and he's always disappointed them. It's nothing but wishful thinking.

Rush is an icon, a money-maker and a great lion for conservatives everywhere, and HE WILL NOT GO AWAY.

Go get 'em Rusty.

I too believe that Rush Limbaugh will receive total hearing...God hears our prayers and answers our prayers...to the glory of Jesus Christ.

Well done...it is probably a very achievable way of helping him monitor his voice. I feel for him...but he has the love of his wife and many of our prayers to help him.

Dear Rsuh,

Thank You for changing my life -for the better! Until I learned what it meant to be a true conservative and that WE are really the 'nice guys' I was lost..

May God Bless you and restore your hearing!

DEFINITION OF LIBERAL -VS- CONSERVATIVE:
Give a man a fish and he eats for a day (liberal solution)
TEACH a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime (conservative solution)

(Or, more correctly, Give a man someone elses fish...(REAL liberal solution))

I have complete faith (and I think Rush does too) that his hearing will be restored, either by medicine or the implant.

O'Reilly had a hearing specialist on The Factor yesterday who said that Rush's hearing could be repaired no problems with implants. In fact, the condition he has often reverses itself over time.

That's the best! I hope Rush picks it up and starts using it.

There are also technological ways enhance his speaking voice. He has plenty of examples of his pre-deafness voice phenomes, these sounds can be put into software. Then have him speak into a speech recognition program. The software would recognize his phenomes, adjust them according to his pre-deafness phenomes, and we hear the output in a "classic Rush" voice.

I'm one of Rush's biggest fans -- because he agrees with me! My husband turned me on to Rush in 1993 when I had to leave the work force because of a disability. His exact words to me were "Martha, you'll love Rush -- he agrees with everything you have to say". My hubby was right (as usual) and Rush saved my sanity as I was having a real hard time adjusting to my new way of life. Hubby bought me a computer for Christmas 1997 and in January 1998 I found the freepers. The rest is history and I love 99% of the freepers. God Bless Rush and Jim Rob -- without them I'm afraid I would have become a raving lunatic -- only kidding!

True, one can decipher a difference in the voice ... SO WHAT ... the same man, with the intellect, heart of gold, and sense of humor are still coming forth as never before ....... that's what is truly important.

Observing Rush's attitude and perseverance through this is a 'life's lesson' in itself.

I, too, pray for him and his family each day.

Ditto on the prayers and he's doing an excellent job even with his hearing gone and one hand tied behind his back.

.... better than ever ....

Ditto that brother. If he was negotiating now, he'd be worth more then $250 million. And libs are more fun when they are out of power. They do the whackiest things. And libs are not gone by any stretch.

As I read this, I remembered Rush was in South Florida now for most of his broadcasts. I was just wondering if anybody knew how far he was from American Media and the terrorist cell groups operating there? Just curious. I hope the medication works, it can work wonders.
