Israel Smashes Large Terrorist Ring

Israel Smashes Large Terrorist Ring

IDF forces significantly damaged a large terrorist infrastructure in the Arab village Beit Rima, in Area A (PA-controlled) in western Binyamin, in an overnight raid-and-battle. Although the full details are still under official censorship wraps, it was announced that Biet Rima is the village from where the terrorist cell that murdered Minister Ze'evi originated. Five terrorists were killed in the operation, two were seriously wounded, and 15-20 members of Hamas, Tanzim, and the PFLP were arrested.

Arab sources claimed that IDF forces had perpetrated a "slaughter" in Rima on "innocent civilians," but Raanan Gissin, spokesman for the Prime Minister, told BBC that these PA accusations were "a slanderous lie." Gissin said that the PA was not fulfilling its elementary responsibility of fighting terrorism, and that therefore Israel had to do it instead.

He implied that two of the wounded terrorists were involved in the murder of Ze'evi. Gissin also countered Arab claims that the IDF prevented medical help from reaching the wounded by saying, "We have seen that Palestinian ambulances generally bring ammunition to the terrorists, not help to the wounded, and so we did not allow them in.

However, the army provided its own medical care to the wounded." The IDF also went looking for Arab doctors in the village to help treat a wounded civilian. The murderers of Ya'ir Nebentzahl, and the perpetrators of many shooting attacks against N'vei Tzuf residents, originated from Rima.

Arutz-7 correspondent Haggai Huberman reported that, unlike other IDF incursions into PA-controlled areas of late, "there was strong opposition from Tanzim terrorists and others, as they had [good reason] not to want the IDF to enter, and the battles were tough. Today, however, the village was quiet."

He said that the IDF is digging in for an extended stay in Rima. "The forces entered before 3 AM, took up positions, and started making arrests according to a list they had." See Arutz Sheva's TV News Clip (28k, 56k, or Broadband ) on this operation.

In other IDF actions today, army forces destroyed the house of Riyahd al-Karmi in the PA-controlled city of Tul Karem; yesterday they destroyed the home of the Dolphinarium suicide terrorist, the first time they performed such an operation in Area A.

Al-Karmi was among the murderers of the two restaurant-owner cousins from Tel Aviv; the army failed in its attempt to kill him last month in a car bomb explosion. Four other Arabs were killed in battles with Israeli forces today.

Soldiers entered a Tanzim office in Bethlehem and collected intelligence information, and arrested a Hamas terrorist in Hevron.

This is interesting because while we are telling them to back off, we talk about combatting global terrorism. When we chase terrorists in Afghanistan thousands of miles from our home its ok with us, but not when Israel chases them in their own backyard.

How ironic.

Inevitably we have killed civilians in Afghanistan (though small amount considering the number of bombs dropping) YET, when civilians get killed by the Israeli Defense Forces its not collateral damage to us.

How ironic.

Israel responds to terrorism after one of it's leaders is assassinated yet we tell them to back off.

How moronic.

Yasser Arafat was trained as a terrorist but wins the Nobel Peace prize. And we try to force him to talk peace with Israel. Yet we don't see the need to have talks of peace with Osama Bin Laden (of course not!)

How sub-moronic.

Yep, I sure wish we would shut up and let Israel handle their own internal security. If we would, there would have been peace there a long time ago. But then without any problems in Israel, 3/4 of our State Department pimps would have to find another job, they would have nothing to do.

I sometimes think that all the "conflict" between the US and Israel is just for show at the present time, and the Israelis and the US look at this as a great opportunity to destroy Arafat and split the PLO while the US looks on in mock "horror" and condemms Israel.

You are being patently ridiculous. The Mossad had NOTHING to with 9 / 11 / 01.

Look, I don't trust anyone. I also don't buy this 'let's band together and fight terrorism' crap. I still think the governments ultimate objective is to win us (the free world) over, through whatever means.

Blindly trust them if you will, not me. They are the people who have gained the MOST from 09/11, not Afghani cave dwellers.

I am so certain, because there is NO point for the Israelis to attack us. This is not the Mossad's MO. Besides, if the press in places such as Egypt, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia say that it the Mossad, then it absolutely, positvely, 100% is NOT the Mossad.

Common sense seems to be a tad on short supply here. The Mossad did NOT fly planes into the WTC and the Pentagon. Neither are they sending letters full of anthrax around. Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh !

What are you talking about? The government will win us over by knowingly letting the WTC be attacked? Huh? Are you talking about a plot between the USA and Israel to accomplish this?

I blindly trust no one. I know this may come as a shock but, Afghani cave dweller did not attack the USA. A well funded and pretty sophisticated organization did. Most were not Afghanis and most lived here in the USA.

It think the deflector shield on your hat needs adjusting.

I don't know sometimes... Do you remember Bush Sr. and James Baker III in 1990? Headlines ran: U.S. Tells Israel "Call Us When You Are Serious" And Baker siad "The phone number (for the White House switchboard) is (he gives number) When you're serious about this, call us." Foreign minister David Levy said at the time, "Deal with us as allies..." [from an article from 6-14-90]

And why don't we treat them as allies? Any other democracies in the Middle-east?

A week later Bush Sr. ended PLO dialogue. This was before Iraq invaded Kuwait. But did we know it was going to happen? The sign were there to see IF you were looking. On July 16,1990 Saddam Hussein gave a fiery speech and said that "cutting throats is better than cutting means of living" referring to the flooding of world oil Markets by Kuwait and the UAE which was costing Baghdad billions in lost revenue. Well, you know what Saddam did next!

I'm not so sure that the diatribe between G.W. Bush's admin. and israel is any less real than it was with his father. I think most people in the State Dept. just don't know what to do with the situation. Each side points fingers of blame, and the U.S. is stuck in the middle not really knowing what to do. I sure hope that's not true this time. If so, we have more idiots in charge. How is that different from the Cllinton Administration.

You believe all your Aryan nation propaganda? I suppose so. I've seen your posts on other simialr threads. you look at things one sided. Anti-Zionist literature is where your mind is lost. The whole Khazar thing...yeah yeah yeah.... Regardless of that crap, haven't you ever heard of Sephardic Jews? Yeah, they were already IN what you call "Palestine" before the "Zionists" you complain about were there. There have been Jews in the land living side by side with the Arabs for a LONG LONG time.

It was peaceful to a degree until the establishment of the Jewish State. However small and crowded it is. the Jewish people have as much claim to the land as anyone else if you want to go that route. But hey, you have a problem with the Jewish people having a country of their own again? Never mind....don't answer that.

Isn't this whole matter just a "good cop, bad cop" routine necessitated by the need to keep the few moderate Arab states within the alliance fold? Such verbal battering back and forth allows the US to look "less openly in support" of Israel, while at the same time Israel pursues her own needed defense measures? I notice no money or military weapons have been denied Israel.

You mean like Colin Powel telling the israelis to leave the West Banl after they already accomplished their objective? Sure, I'm no fool, but there's no doubt in my mind at the frustration with the situation by both sides. I don't think the hard core Muslims are fooled by the ploy though.

No, the hard core Muslims wouldn't be fooled. However, such a policy does give those moderate governments "official" cover. (And the Bush administration against our own left.) If ever the US would openly and officially sanction Israel's security attacks, then those governments would have no choice but to distance themselves from the USA. At this point, we don't have the resources to fight a two front war. It's a difficult position for Israel to be in, but I appreciate them taking out the HAMAS leaders! Someday when all this is over (God willing) they'll get credit for their efforts in the war on terrorism.

Maybe we should mobilize a pro Israel rally in front of the white house and tote signs saying "Israel... the True Anti-Terrorist State", or "US should follow Israel's Lead" or "You Go Israel".

I'm afraid this White house is being led around by Powell... and it's beginning to make me sick.

Israel is handling its own problems - quite well now.

America has few friends in the world at this time. Israel is one of them. We cannot abandon them and their help should be employed in our time of crisis now.

Maybe you haven't been paying attention. We are hated - whether or not we help Israe. China could care less about our help for Israel - but China is arming every possible enemy against us - and against Israel.

The Arab states will never be "our friends" - so get over that illusion. We are infidels just like Israel - we are whether you like it or not - filled with people of the Judeo-Christian faith. Therefore, no matter what Israel does or doesn't do, no matter what we do in regard to Israel - WE ARE THE ENEMY!

As the enemy of so many - we MUST develop closer ties with and accept help from our real friends.

I would wager that if Israel's intelligence people could come in this country - they would find and take care of the terrorists here in short order. Wouldn't we appreciate that help?

Similarly - their intelligence people could help us in Afghanistan and other parts of the Arabic world where they have on the ground info and we do not.

Israel is America's friend. America should never stop being a friend to Israel! NEVER!
