Sounds pretty laissez-faire there Rubbish. Nothing in the article says drugs are legal. Thanks for trashing my response w/ no basis. All I said is that it seems laissez-faire. I based that on a lack of mention of enforcement except for one data collector type who seemed to shrug and give a "Whaddya gonna do?" kind of posture. The tone of the article is that it is tolerated, tacitly, which is how I mean to use the term, laissez-faire. I am just shocked that there are some people who think this kind of human degradation is OK. I maintain that a large segment of the human population is irresponsible (w/o getting into the reasons). Turn that segment loose on freely-available drugs and you can just kiss them goodbye. It's not pretty; neither is the crime and squalor they foment. Lastly, isn't it possible to dialogue politely, even when you disagree?

You mean this: "In those days it was pretty well impossible to obtain drugs at school, while today it's almost normal"? There's no "posture" there, just a bald statement of fact.

The tone of the article is that it is tolerated, tacitly

I detect no toleration, tacit or otherwise, just the fact of increased use.

Lastly, isn't it possible to dialogue politely, even when you disagree?

Yes it is---but the impoliteness started here: "Sounds pretty laissez-faire there, though, for those who think that's the way to go."
