What about the fact that the guy was carrying maps of airport terminals and had fake ID saying he was an airline mechanic? How can you possibly say that you think they are out of the airplane phase?
I used to work on telephones at a container yard. My first thought was.."Anybody or anything could be in any container here." The security consisted of a gumball machine with many white balls and a couple of black balls. Every truck that left got a turn of the gumball handle. Black balled trucks were searched. Sometimes as many as 20 trucks would go through without a search. When searched, the gaurd would usually just stand at the back door looking in, not having the foggiest idea what was 5 feet inside the truck. I thought of a "Tom Clancey" style novel with terrorists shipping their nuke by container and giving us 48 hrs. to meet their demands, but never wrote it. I still work for the phone company.
P.S. I also figured out a long time ago that we weren't really serious about the war on drugs or illegal immigration. Just ship them COD.
