Will the real spelling please stand up??? Why is it that everything Muslin has two different spellings. Which is the real spelling or the book Koran or Quran Sorry didn't mean to stray from your original post but I think it relates to just how very confused the Muslim (moslim) world is

It's not different spellings, it's different transliterations. Koran is the traditional transliteration, but somebody somehow thought that Quran did it better. I've no idea why, because it's basically unpronounceable plus very strange looking to an American eye.

Will the real spelling please stand up???Since these things are originally written in Arabic, not in the Roman alphabet, we just listen and spell 'em like they sound. So I've seen Koran, Coran, Quran... Muslim, Moslem... Mohammed, Muhammed, Mohammet... there's no letter-to-letter translation from non-Roman script. Unless maybe its originally in Greek or Hebrew. Then maybe. But not Arabic or Chinese characters or anything non-phonetic.

So, because some Irish Catholics in Ireland have been known to be violent, all Catholics in the United States are violent? Give me a break.

add to that--how many ways are there to spell Mohamad, Mohammad, Muhamad, Muhammad, etc.?

Thanks for the replys. Let us get back to the original topic at hand..... The arab world is in a heap of trouble because some morons decided to crash planes into American buildings and use the Muslim name as a scapegoat. I do not even believe that these cowards were religious. Nor do I believe that the KKK are devout Christians. However, the Arab world needs to do more to prove to the rest of the world that it is against these attacks. Saudi Arabia and Egypt (two majority Muslin countries) will not ever cooperate with the USA and give it's passenger lists to us. I mean if you really want to help start with the small stuff so that we can prevent further tragedy. If the Arab nation will not defend freedom then how can they expect the rest of the world to believe that they are not against it.

Simply boffo questions! If you hear back, please ping me!
If they ever get that show, I'd like to ask about their treatment of women, why it's ok for men to 'rape' other men, and why the Islam leaders do not use their own wealth to help bring their people into the 16th century, for starters.
Are there functioning sewage/water systems in most Islamic countries?

The only way to defend Islam is to turn of Osama and his Al Quada henchmen.

Hey man, I'm just asking the questions.

They want to improve their image so to regain access to our society. The Islamic centers, the travelling imams, the jihad recruiting meetings all have to be built up to continue the war on the west.

Chop, Chop, Slit, Slit, oh! what a religion it is! NOT!

We are putting our efforts together as ministers to reach all media in the Western world to explain our position that all Muslims and all Arabs are against terrorism...'' This is the kind of hyperbole so common in the Arab world that makes them seem insincere, callous and stubborn. There is no way that ALL Arabs or ALL Muslims are against terrorism, and if it is true, then they have a different definition for terrorism than we do.
To: Anamensis
This is exactly how terrorists have gotten into this country without notice. For example, the computer is flagged to be on the lookout for someone named Mohammed Abdulla Mahmoud (for example)... but when he comes into the country, he spells it Mohamed Abdela Mammud or something slightly different, and the computer misses it entirely.

QUESTION#3: Does Islam means peace, or does it mean surrender or submission as I've read in Arabic?
Peace= when you have throttled the very life out the infidels and they struggle no more.
...the Arab world needs to do more to prove to the rest of the world that it is against these attacks.
Simply stated...If they are NOT trying to prove they are against the attacks and working to "educate" the muslim world at large that islam is the peaceful love-in they claim...it is because THEY APPROVE of the attacks.

Don't bother. We already know that Islam is a "peaceful" religion. Really.
