I was at National Airport a few days after 9/11, trying to get my return ticket cancelled, and saw a pair of Apaches. They flew across the Potomac and over the airport--and I saw live rockets and Hellfires loaded.
Most sobering experience I had that week.

A few days after 9/11 a fighter jet flew over my house here in Houston at about midnight. Best feeling I'd had in days knowing those guys are up there.

I didn't know whether to keep driving right into the face of the ones I saw (which from my limited knowledge did look like Apaches) or 4-wheel it off into the woods.

The sight of combat aircraft patrolling America was and is chilling. So were the faces of Bush, Gephardt, Daschle and others the day of and day after the attack. I knew the second I saw them there was more to this than the WTC and the pentagon. The media didn't. They were on auto-pilot, doing the "Blame Bush" for not returning to DC crap. But even those idiots finally realize the enormity of what occurred.
