It seems that spelling is a question of choice. Moslim is just as good as Muslim or Moslem. Actually the "e" has been dropped from most Arabic orthography (I believe the Library of Congress and the U.S. Board on Geographic Names supports this) and it has been replaced by the "a".

Sorry, I should have said the "e" is replaced by another vowell. They are also fooling with the "o", and "u",thus we have Muslim instead of Moslem, and Kuran instead of Koran, Muhamad or Muhammad instead of Mohamed, etc. The desire to fool with Arabic (like Russian orthography) happens every century.
