More than 3,000 people rallied behind Rep. Barbara Lee, the only member of Congress to oppose a resolution granting President Bush authority to use force against terrorists.

The crowd in downtown Oakland erupted in cheers Sunday when actor Danny Glover walked Mrs. Lee to the podium about two hours into the rally. Mr. Glover called Mrs. Lee a hero. Alice Walker, the writer, called her inspiring, the Associated Press reports.

Very inspiring on the surface, but if you start boycotting anyone whose views are not your own, you're going to be stuck for entertainment between country music (fine for some, but I hate it) or really bad Elvis reruns. I happen to like Danny Glover's acting, and I won't boycott him. I don't watch movies to get political opinions, and I wish all these celebrities would stop enlightening us. Who cares?

I don't care so much that he's a communist; although that doesn't endear him to me; I just think he's not a really good actor. Anthony Hopkins, Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones, James Woods, Al Pacino (how come he doesn't have that Guido thing written all over him?) and that fat f!@# Marlon Brando; now there are some great actors. Robert DeNiro is passable, but Danny Glover really bites the big one, don't you think?

Didn't Glover get caught in some fraud involving taxi cab "bigotry" in NYC ?
If I recall, he claimed that a taxi failed to stop for him simply because he was a minority and then it was revealed that all the cab drivers in the area were themselves minorities. Something like that. I think it was part of a Democrat election cycle scheme that he willingly helped with. Anyway, the scum turned tail and ran away after he was caught.
Personally, I will make it a point to avoid any movie with this guy in it. Mel Gibson must have hated him.

I have never seen a Danny Glover film, so no need for me to start boycotting now. I remember years ago, he was supporting a cold-hearted, evil murderer named Gary Graham and I vowed never to watch a Danny Glover film. A bit pointless as he's never appeared in any movie to my liking anyway, I think he is only in your typical Hollywood violence ridden trash made simply for your urban youth. NOT my cup of tea. (yes, that includes the film he made with Mel Gibson, the only films of Mel's that I have never seen)
