My wife refuses to take in the mail, even the QVC stuff that she loves so dearly.

Being macho ( and maybe stupid) I bring it in , open it and let her take her pick.

For the first time in my life I am afraid of something lurking in my mailbox other than a spider. I caught myself being a little more cautious with my packages and letters yesterday. Who knows what this stuff we receive comes into contact with on it's way to us???

Awww now see what a good husband you are. My husband does the same for me and not because of a fear of anthrax but due to the fact that I once opened a Staples box that housed a large spider.....phobias here.

And BTW if your screen name is in reference to the town you live in then let me say hello from a fellow Freeper from the same town.

I drilled a hole in the top of the mailbox and pump it full of water from my garden hose before taking the mail out. I then shovel the wet mail out the box into a wheelbarrow and leave it in the sun for a couple of days to dry. Then I take it inside, put the iron on high-steam setting and iron each piece for about 15 minutes. Then (just to be sure) I put it in the microwave for 5 minutes on high. Only after all this is done do I dare to open it.

I'm really getting sick of junk mail. But on the plus side, most of our bills are unlegible now.
