Isn't it possible that the 4,000 to 5,000 Iraqis that settled in the US after the Gulf War could be used to help replace Saddam's regime, once we go after Iraq in the war on terror?

do you think they would have anticipated the "war on terror" 9 years ago when these people were relocated to the states?

Well, I think Saddam's regime has been in our crosshairs for ten years or so, waiting for his demise or an opportunity to accelerated it ourselves. Just so happens, the WoT seems to have presented an opportunity for the US.

I don't usually say so publicly, but I'm not convinced that Iraq needs to be militarily defeated to achieve our objectives; mainly because the costs outweigh the benefits IMHO.
