I've been asked to post this heartfelt note from Ted Olson -- to all of you. Despite everything he's going through -- professionally and privately -- he hasn't forgotten the loves of his life ... and those of his beautiful wife Barbara, who obviously cared for you. Hence this email to you. God bless. God bless Ted and all those who died ... and live on. And God bless America.

Ted, you're loved and admired too. Both of you were always special to freepers..

"The knowledge of how much Barbara was loved and admired has been my chief consolation in these difficult days."

Paul, I am very fortunate to have found a Catholic parish that steers away from the typical liberal gospel. Sunday under the Mass Intentions I found the following:

For Barbara Olson + .

The + signifying the deceased. I was really touched but not surprised because the Sunday after Sept. 11, our priest gave a full sermon on how personally he took Barbara's death. Isn't it good to know there are still some mainline clergy battling for the Lord and America?

God Bless Ted. --Cynthia in Tucson

We all have lost a national treasure in Barbara Olson. I could never imagine the grief Ted must feel with his loss of such a warm, inspiring person as Barbara. May God give Ted the strength.

How very thoughtful of Ted, and very kind of you, Paul, to post this on our forum. I am again acutely aware of the feeling in the pit of my stomach when I first learned of the plane that hit the Pentagon carried Barbara Olson. Not unlike losing a family member. To this day I find that so odd for me to have had that type reaction. I now find that I was not alone. She was a charming and lovely addition to our lives that cannot be replaced. God has added another star to His heavens.

Ted, may God strengthen and keep you as you move forward without her.

It just doesn't seem possible that Barbara is no longer here just from seeing how full of life she was on television. I'm sorry, I try not to think she is really gone. Some people are here for so long and accomplish so little or nothing. She accomplished so much and seemed to enjoy herself immensely. I truly admired her and always enjoyed seeing her on tv. She was truly wonderful. She held a special place while she was here, and I am sure she holds a special place now.

Barbara Olson and Ted Olson were admired by FReepers long before we were cowardly attacked by terrorists. Barbara is now a guardian angel of the Republic and Ted one of its most able warriors. God Bless them both.

Dear Mr. Olson,

I hardly know what to say other then that I am wishing you and your family the best in the coming months and years.

Both you and your dear wife are such inspirations for conservative causes and we feel a measure of your great loss.

We are hoping that you find some comfort in the outpouring of sympathy and love that we here at FreeRepublic and elsewhere felt for this lovely lady who championed conservative cause. She will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

May God Bless you and your family in your hour of need.

Our prayers are with you.

Such a wonderful man to think to thank people at a time when he feels such loss. My heart went out to him when I saw him doing the TV interviews so shortly after the loss of Barbara. The strength he exhibited was beyond what anyone could ever hope to have in the same situation. The two made an amazing pair. May he forever feel the love they shared within his soul!

I did not know much about her. My only awareness of her was the stir she had created with her book Hell To Pay. But when that terrible day unfolded her name to conservatives was front and center. Her picture was posted here and elsewhere. Truly a beautiful woman both inside and out. I am sorry I did not know of her better. May we all meet in the new Jerusalem.

I have encountered many souls in my days. Barbara and Ted are some of the most decent. Barbara is greatly missed.

A body may leave us, a soul may depart from our presence,

The wings of an eagle above pull upward and out, fullness of air grapsed in hollows but for a moment in feathered touch, then pushing, muscle, golden eyes aim below, searching,

Breath deeply this wisp upon you, it passes not from this realm.

I'm sure she remained an inspiration to those around her even until the end.

Thank you so much for sharing Ted Olson's note with us. We at Free Republic were the fortunate ones knowing that Barbara was one of us and her views that were shared with the world via TV spoke for all of us. What a loss for her family and our country. I hope it will be some consolation to Ted, family and her friends to know just how loved she was by oh so many and sadly missed by all. God Bless and give you comfort... Grannyheart

Mr. Olson,

I can't tell you how sorry I was to hear of your terrible loss. It was absolutely stunning to think of your losing your dear Barbara this way.

It's still so hard to believe she's not in this world, with her grace and that twinkle in her eye which was so apparent even on the tv screen. Barbara was really paying attention when the lesson was taught about how to disagree without being disagreeable. She learned that lesson so well.

Have just gotten a copy of her last (her last!) book, so sad to know there won't be any others. Bless you and Barbara for all that you've both done in the service of this country. Barbara Olson will live on in all our hearts.

Thank you so much for posting this for us. He is a wonderful man, I can see what Barbara saw in him. She was as lucky as he was.

He was on Larry King tonight.. I was surfing and I stopped right away when I saw his face on Larry's show. He spoke of how so many people talked over and over about one thing he also remembers.. her smile!!!

Then they showed her,..and he said "There it is".. I swear that did it for me.. I started crying..and have to admit.. I really miss her.

There aren't to many women who are as intelligent or articulate as Barbara was. I always told my husband.. "Now that woman can speak for me any day!!!"

I wonder what happened to the Womans Forum she was starting. I know it was a counter Organization to the NOW Organization. One that represented the majority of American Womens views, not the shrill radical views of NOW. I wonder what will become of it now? Of Barbara's Organization... does anyone know??

Next I will be buying her book. It is number two now. I can't wait to read her last writings on the Clintons. She had them pegged. Her husband spoke of that tonight too.. he is a blessing to this Country as Solictor General!!!!

He will remain in our prayers.. his loss is great.. and is shared by so many.
