Has anyone noticed that right after 9-11, the media began talking about Anthrax? At the time, I wondered why - then, two weeks ago, BINGO! Anthrax took over the airwaves. Now the talking heads are speaking about SMALLPOX - do they know something we don't?
I get the impression they are preparing us for the next event.
I've been thinking similarly about things. However, smallpox is a different matter entirely. If the US gov't has information that small pox is a true weapon (and not just conjecture in the halls of academics); the Federal Gov't has a responsibility to INFORM the physicians in the country. MMWR (CDC's official publication) has not made any comments on imminent threat of small pox. In addition, our low vaccine inventories further heighten the alarm. One wonders what the Clinton Admin was doing over the past 8 years when this threat was arising.
