And I don't give a damn what people want to label me for saying so.

What if it was sassy? Try dragging out the "s's" for effect. And then punch the "sy." It also helps to be a redhead.

My work here is done.

Why should you be sorry?

Took me a while, but I read it.

And I didn't like what I saw...written by the powerbrokers of my own government.

I wonder if anyone would've read this if you HADN'T dropped this on here.

Come to think of it...I'm wondering if anyone read it before starting their little "gang-bang" on you.

I doubt it.

I read the entire mess. Now, you give me a point by point analysis of each "freedom" we are losing in this "draft" proposal along with the congressional law that implements them along with the date that GWB signed such laws. Thanks

Sassy I is, mah brother.

Meaning...I don't care if people want to lay the usual tinfoilnutcaseblahblahblah epithets on me for actually stating that Jeff Rense has a better site than a lot of people here would like to admit.

As for the UFO stuff...whatever. No disrespect meant, but it's not as if this very site hasn't been guilty of posting questionable material from time to time, eh?

Show me the perfect site...and try to PROVE that this Homeland Security Agency has ABSOLUTELY NO POTENTIAL to become intrusive on my rights...and that'll be the day my aunt grows testes and becomes my uncle.

POTENTIAL. Got it?

Besides...what about the NEXT Administration? Think you would be so all-fired excited about a Homeland Security Agency under LibDems should they take the reins? How about if they gain a majority in Congress? You'll be complaining enough about it, I'm sure, when it's too damned late.

And no, I'm not about to sit up all night babysitting you and walking you by the hand to point out the instances in the PAST where our Federal Government has abused their position before to intrude on our rights. If you are NOT for less government, I have no idea why the hell you're on this board.

I thought so, you did not read it and yet you attack others for doing what you will not do.

Are you saying that is not a Constitutional requirement for the Federal government to provide for National Security?

I read it.

And I responded to your #44. Sure, like it would take me ten minutes to enumerate the potential for abuse this could cause. Excuse me for being snippy, but get real.

And you must forgive me if I don't stand by, hanging on to your EVERY post at your command.

No-one owns or commands the Merc.

If I'm not inclined to put up with that kind of cr*p from government, I'm sure you'll understand I'm even less inclined to put up with it from bossy individuals.

LOL - you folks kill me. No one here hates the federal Government as much as I do, but do you really think this "evil organization" would set up a web page to announce its intentions?

You've been hanging out with Askel5 - who believes Kissinger and Haig are running our gov. for the Soviets - LOL!!!!

Got to mark my spot on here. Read through about a third of it, up to "The Role of Congress" and there is some pretty sobering stuff in there. Simply too much to parse.
The most unusual and interesting comments...FINAL DRAFT REPORT EMBARGOED UNTIL JAN. 31, 2001

And...As it enters the 21st century, the United States finds itself on the brink of an unprecedented crisis of competence in government. The declining orientation toward government service as a prestigious career is deeply troubling. Both civilian and military institutions face growing challenges, albeit of different forms and degrees, in recruiting and retaining America's most promising talent. This problem derives from multiple sources-ample private sector opportunities with good pay and fewer bureaucratic frustrations, rigid governmental personnel procedures, the absence of a single overarching threat like the Cold War to entice service, cynicism about the worthiness of government service, and perceptions of government as a plodding bureaucracy falling behind in a technological age of speed and accuracy.

snip...Meanwhile, a pervasive atmosphere of distrust and cynicism about government service is reinforced by the encrustation of complex rules based on the assumption that all officials, and especially those with experience in or contact with the private sector, are criminals waiting to be unmasked.

Yeah right - a bunch of Afghani peasants are responsible for the WTC tragedy

Seems that YOU are the idiot taking propaganda from the peacnicks that we are bombing the civilians. Why don't you go join up and sing kumbaya with them you hippie turd.

Our nation was ATTACKED. The people resposible reside in many places in the Middle East, Afghanistan holding MOST of them, and the Taliban supports them.

Tell us, buttercup, how was our Fed Gov to have spent money to prevent this? Box cutter control laws? What freedoms should they have taken away from us?

Ohhhh you are snippy. But the fact remains you cannot answer my questions and are now getting in a snit because of that fact. I would suggest before you attack someone for NOT reading something you should get your own reading assignments in order.

There's national security and then there's a police

Then maybe you can point to the "police state" recommendations in this draft. The "Merc" has declined how about you?

Not taking anything away from Askel5, whom I think is pretty sharp, but I know how to formulate my own opinions, thanks.

Seems like you're following the Government Amen Chorus Line, though. Tsk tsk!

Considering that it was members of OUR GOVERNMENT who came up with this little National Security proposal, it amazes me that on one hand you talk about hanging out with Askel5, then turn around and call the people who wrote it an "evil organization".

Your consistency is slipping. And I have better things to do.

Why don't you and Texasforever read it and YOU try to convince ME that there's no potential for abuse, seeing as you are saying that "no-one hates the FedGov" as much as you do?

As for the necessity of me providing proof that the Government HAS the potential for abusing such a proposal...man, I shouldn't have to. You have a search engine, and I'm pretty convinced your pulse is strong enough to be able to find one or two or a thousand instances where such abuse has occurred in the past.

So either convince me this has NO potential for abuse...or simply color me skeptical and say nighty-night.
