Notice that we have been hearing this story all day with the significant and most important omission of the raids purpose. I'm not a fan of this paper by any stretch, but they got the story right. I am sure that there was a military purpose to this attack, but the psychological impact was far greater. A message was sent to the Taliban and OBL, there is no where for you to hide. There is no safety. The Spookies didn't hurt either.

One additional advantage to sending in ground troops - they can snatch records and writings for intelligence purposes. Air-strikes can't.
