Why not? Robin Hood robbed from the corrupt government and returned the monies to the people -- overburdened by oppressive taxation. This undermined the authority of the pretender Prince John, who only held the throne while good King Richard the Lionhearted was off fighting in the Crusades.

Sounds like a good guy to me!

Unfortunately, so many people only know that trite little phrase . . .

Robin Hood stole from the Governement Tax Collectors and gave back to the earners. Just because history has reduced it to "take from the Rich, Give to the Poor" doesn't make it so.
