It really was an historic event .. all shades of the rainbow in reactions and focus points. Disgraced Ex-Potus and his accomplice took some raw NY heat .... YAY!!!!!!! (ran outside to feed the 4-legged creatures and actually missed that .. DARN .. but SO GRATEFUL it happened), Gere and Sarandon were way out in the ozone for this audience (and 82% of America)... YAY!!! Stern was ... well, his comments hit a homerun, his bare tush was totally disgusting and selfish .. seeing as how there were so many families there and innocent grieving kids.
The crowd was loose, lubricated with drink and able to have a good time for probably the first time since the attack. God Bless Them All!!
Sandler was hysterical .. just priceless!! And you're right, Howlin, the old geezers showed up the current crop BIG TIME. Clapton and Guy just rocked, as did the Who, Jagger and Paul, sweet, wonderful Paul.
Saddest thing of all to me, and I was thinking it throughout the 5 hours ... when will someone take just 10 seconds to mention prayers, thoughts for our fighting servicepeople, who are risking their lives as we speak to bring the monsters to accountability?? Not one word that I heard .. unless it was when I ran out to the dryer. That really hurts.
Looking at the event, on the whole, it was memorable and should not be missed. (Why doesn't Elton just get a sex change so he can be the woman he wants to be????) Take it on to 2000 .........>
I would not dought if there is a show for the troops around Thanksgiving. It will probably be mostly country entertainers, afterall the armed forces are not victims and Hollywood has no stake in that. How about raisng money for famlies of deployed soldiers? I don't mean to sound cold, but most of the WTC workers were well paid and have set thier families up in case of disaster. Military families have very little to back them up.
