An Paul sang a perfect version of Yesterday. His Voice was really smooth. Roger the Dodger wished he still had his chops I'm sure. His voice is shot! The Scream in, We Don't get fooled again, sounded like my daughters fighting over the Barbies before bed!

As to the reason the British bands looked last night to be "better" than their American counterparts is simple. Most of them are. These groups took raw R&R and banged out hard driving songs based on the simple structure. Could you say that they are 'real' musicians who, although older, can still draw on their talent when performing live, while the newer groups - even Janet Jackson - rely too much on studio 'effects' and can't perform very well when unscripted.

Budman,
Thank you so much for posting this link. It was great fun following along last night.
Please. Please. Please if anyone gets clips of Operaman, BooGate and BCM's brother, post them so we can see them here. I can't believe I watched VH1 for that long. You all made me feel as if I were on the phone way back when with my friends in high school analyzing a major event.
Bump for 2000.

Billy Crystal: "I've been to a lot of concerts backstage, and I've never seen everybody run away from WHITE POWDER!" LOL! I missed the first half hour or so. Thanks for posting that. It's a classic.

Now what are we gonna do about the Braves?? Pray....and celebrate 10 glorious years.
I go back to the Atlanta Crackers playing at Ponce de Leon Park and went to the first ever Atlanta Braves game with my Dad on April 12, 1966.
Joe Torre hit a home run for the Bravos in a losing effort that went 12 innings and ruined Tony Cloninger's arm.
(yes....he went the distance IIRC, on opening night! My... how things have changed)
For 25 years I suffered the WORST team in baseball and use to envy the Red Sox (at least they were competetive and exciting each year)
and I vowed to never complain if they could just be in the hunt for the pennant come September.
But never in my wildest dreams did I think they would become a powerhouse team entertaining me each and every summer.
Go Braves!

Let's hope this fundraiser has a lockbox, cuz we remember how the Clinton's pilaged the White House when they left.

Right, and half the country voted for Al Gore. Am I clear?

You apparently are out of the loop.

BTW, the people that posted on THIS thread didn't vote for Al Gore. We can't ALL be wrong.

Sorry, but having Parkinson's doesn't make him a saint! Getting that is what prompted him to start stumping for embryonic stem cells! I'm sure he could care less about it before that. These stars are very self serving, and when they get a disease, the whole world must stop until there is a cure.

want to be part of the longest thread ever on FR.

"Somebody emailed me and said they "MAY" rerun it at 2 today........I'm checking it out!" Let me know if you find out. This time I'm taping it! On my online screen guide for 2:00 on VH1 I get the "Vogue Fashion Awards".......would that be the place that Hitlery wore the Seinfeld puffy shirt?
